I hope not he''s a donkey, offers nothing that Holt and Morison don''t already give us. If we''re after a striker we need one with pace and trickery.

Altidore has certainly been linked on some sites - sounds a decent player. I''m sure the doommongers will go on about when he was at Hull and a poor record there, but he has 49 caps for a good USA side and decent form over the last year or so and might be worth it.

I remeber him scoring one hell of a goal for Hull and had crazy pace, but was only 19/20 in that season and went back after not doing much else goal-wise. Lacked composure like our very own Jackson though he is much stronger and over 6ft tall.

May have learned a lot in the Eredivisie where players are quite technical usually. Says he scored 19 in 33 on Wiki for AZ Alkmaar last season, which is a very good return. Only 22 as well so plenty of time to learn. I hope his last season at AZ wasn''t a one-off if he does come here and he bangs them in for us. His pace and power could be good with Holt/Moro
