Tangible Fixed Assets anyone?

Developments at Colney...........

Recommended Posts

Tangy

I''m assuming that some of this building work will be funded by the Premier League Academy funding so presumably you have no objections to this?  Effectively any investment by the club in this is essentially an investment into the future playing staff of the club, thus wouldn''t hold any real objections from those crying foul agaisnt investment in off fileld activity.

The plans seem pretty uncontroversial as well so presumably you have no beef against them either.  My only concern is that it is beginning to look like an old people''s home - potential revenue however for any administrator should the worse happen.

An application needed so the Club obtains Category One Academy status. Presumably no one objects to that?

Wonder what Tangy makes of the latest planning application at Carrow Road?

GMF - have you got a link to that?

Presumably GMF you are talking about the new Directors'' Entrance planning application and removal of old ticket office windows.  Mmm, can think of better things to spend money on but assume people like Stephen Fry and MWJ are struggling to squeeze through the old entrance!!!

No sign of an application yet for the temporary seating in front of the hotel.  Seems unlikely this will be in place before the season kick off.

think it underlines to the planners the need for additional educational facilities!

In the event of us spending on these tangible fixed assets and subsequent relegation this season wouldn''t you, Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? be the first to criticise spending money on tangible fixed assets rather than the team? And while you''re here Tangible Fixed Assets anyone?, just how much did Watling wallet?

The current entrance is in the stand they are most likely to replace, renovate or build over, so makes perfect sense if they are planning to increase capacity in that stand, also a lot of the staff offices were moved out to the Jarrold.

So Canary-N, do you think this hints at some definite preparation for a new stand or not?  It could be just making the best of things, but if not surely better to wait until the new stand development gets under way?

Yes indeed,  it could just be making the best of things. I would like to think that they are moving people from the stand to be ready at the end of next season to get started, moving during a season is much more hassle. The interior of the Jarrold corporate is also much nicer than in the City stand.

But definite plan? No idea, but most likely location to change.

The opening post was made for information purposes only with no linked agenda.

I am surprised at you Shefcanary for not being able to recognise the difference between this development at Colney and the non performing land deals etc.

The least you can do is tell us if you think we should be spending this money or not, unless your many calculations only work with hindsight?

The former ticket office and travel agency offices are empty and disused at the moment. If the demand for corporate hospitality is such that these proposals can help meet demand and give a quick pay back, then this probably make good sense.

Because it was a good double meaning to the thread title?

Much better than the usual "holt signs" thread. Well done tangy.

Tangy, apologies for surprising you, but as others have commented, without commenting yourself I wanted to give you the opportunity to comment positively on this development knowing indeed it was to ensure on-field development before off-field largesse.  If you want to conitnue your new style of short but sweet postings then people will no doubt make up their own mind what your opinion is - but there again perhaps that is what you want to allow you to write some put downs later.

Ah well - NCFC - one great big happy family (most of the time!)

Shef, just a suggestion, if you wish for more elaborate input from Tangy then ask him about Preston North End. That makes him all warm and cuddly.

Mega lol Cranky Yankee. Thank you for reminding everyone that Tangible''s idea that the costs of running the club were too high, as confirmed by McNally''s cuts.
