Sky Sports confirm Norwich interest in Davies

Birmingham''s Curtis Davies could be set for a return to the top flight with three Premier League sides tracking the defender.

Sky Sports understands there is interest in the 27-year-old centre-back from Norwich, managed by Davies'' former boss Chris Hughton, with newly-promoted clubs West Ham and Reading also believed to be monitoring his situation.

As yet, no club has made their interest concrete in the form of an official bid.

But with the player himself keen to return to the Premier League football and Birmingham anxious to cut costs, a deal may be done this summer.

Davies is under contract with Blues until 2014 after joining from city rivals Aston Villa in January 2011.

Just a word of caution before people get too excited but is this the same Sky Sports that reported Lambert to Burnley and Holt to West Ham as done deals ? Oh nearly forgot the Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank to be the new Norwich manager a few years back fiasco.

Not really confirmed just sky trying to fire up some gossip, Or they have just heard all the other rumors and jumped on the band wagon.Would love it if we got him though.

Sky are normally pretty good though. Yeah they''ve got it wrong in the past but that''s when we were in the lower divisions. Last season were pretty accurate with our transfer targets, Johnson, Pilkington, Vaughan etc

I''m not too sure how folk imagine they get their information but my experience is that it is usually the same spotty oiks trawling the web and re-gurgitating what they have read elsewhere

 

a good example is to look back and the ludicrous old tosh they have posted up in the past week and you will find they are about as accurate as Stevie Wonder playing darts when the dart board is in the other room

 

if your unerest is in reading made up stuff you might just as well cut out the middleman and trawl the many football gossip websites yourself, as that is pretty much what they do

I think Bly draws on his many years of attending Carrow Road (as does wiz) to give us a very original perspective on City matters

 

I always look forward to his match reports and the occasional warm-hearted reminicence of such times as our glorious ''69 cup run and those epic goals by Ron Curran blasted in at the River Stand and Barclay Bank.

 

Favourite was wee Tommy Brylcream skipping down the wing in front of the Wensum Stand and crossing for the towering figure of Benny Fogho to rise salmon like and thunder his header past Alex Steptoe the Everton keeper

I understand that there is an excellent CB currently unattached to a club who we could get on a free and who had a very decent season in The Premier League last season available..........why ever did PL release Whitbread?  I digress, as for Davies, he would be good addition but I agree let''s do it quickly and avoid this continual speculation.

Well some say that McNally took that decision.

 

But, either way, Whitbread just doesn''t play enough games. You''re paying him for a full season when he only seems to manage half the games (at best).

I was disappointed we released Whitbread. But if he is as good as we thought he was how come he hasn''t already been signed up by another Premier League club as a free agent.
