Cambridgeyellow 0 Posted June 8, 2012 I would love to know if Lambert dumped Karsa and Culverhouse or if they dumped him.If they dumped him surely this means that part of Hughtons job will be to groom Culverhouse into becoming his successor in a few years time. Also if this is really the case Paul Lambert must be very concerned if the way we were told the club was run was true, I wonder if he also gave Villa a garuntee they would follow. If he dumped them he is far more ruthless than even I imagined. Or this could also have seen Villa saying if you want the job that bad you will be using what we have. Or maybe this is the McNally making Lambert sweat. I wonder if anyone has told Lerner yet that Lambert only does motivational speeches.
Jack Barak 46 Posted June 8, 2012 Cambridge - what do you mean about the way the club was being run? I have only caught snippets of the latest goings on and would appreciate any thing you could add.Ta.
JF 694 Posted June 8, 2012 Can''t see any other scenario than them joining him at Villa in the next few weeks. Mcnally is just calling their bluff so we get compensation instead of releasing them and having to pay their contracts. Hope i''m wrong though.
Lets be aving you! 0 Posted June 8, 2012 According to an article in yesterday''s Birmingham Post, Lambert wants Culverhouse to rejoin him: "Paul Lambert is finalising plans to create a new-look management team at Villa Park, with Ian Culverhouse the man he wants as his No.2. The new Villa boss wants his long-term right-hand man to join him in the Midlands and continue their blossoming relationship that worked so well at his former club Norwich. Culverhouse is still employed by the Canaries but the move will be straight-forward should things run as smoothly as expected."

Lets be aving you! 0 Posted June 8, 2012 Indeed, Icecream Snow. A bit of journalistic vagueness. Presumably the "whom" denotes Lambert/Villa.
Phyxius 0 Posted June 8, 2012 Does it really matter in the end??Like Tupac said “You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could''ve, would''ve happened... or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on." Lambert turned up twice a week once on Friday and then to tell everyone his team before a game. As I said this was only mentioned and maybe not be what happened in reallity. But if it did Lambert would have to find somebody he trusted 100 % if his style was to work. By the way that is also the way Martin O''Neill works.

In fairness to Lambert he does credit the pair when asked.
Icecream Snow 777 Posted June 8, 2012 Odd, last time I thought Culverhouse and Karsa resigned when Lambert did.Really smacks of Villa not having any money. Lambert "resigned" because he was leaving to become Villa manger regardless. Yet Culverhouse and Karsa haven''t done the same. I''m certain Lambert wants them both, and is likely to get them both, but the whole affair is very strange.
whoareyou? 0 Posted June 8, 2012 I suspect Culverhouse and Karsa have no clause in their contracts allowing them to speak to interested parties as it''s assumed if Lambert left they would be sacked. But McNally is playing hardball and if Villa want them, they have to pay up. Aren''t you so pleased he is running the club now. [:D]

Just Dan 10 Posted June 8, 2012 I wonder if David McNally had enough of Paul Lambert pulling the same stunt, making idle threats about leaving if he couldn''t sign this player or if so and so wasn''t offered a new contract. In the end, McNally lined up Hughton. Lambert tried his luck once too often and McNally called his bluff. Lambert wouldn''t back down and he was left with a choice out of Villa (3rd choice behind Martinez and OGS), West Brom or Swansea. Effectively, Lambert jumped ship because we wanted him to and had his replacement ready to roll. Perhaps would suggest why Culverhouse and Karsa haven''t gone yet (they wanted to stay all along) and why Lambert did not look at all happy at Villa. He has dropped a b****** and he knows it. Or perhaps I am wrong, it is only a theory. Night all ;)

Norfolk Mustard 106 Posted June 9, 2012 McNally has placed Culverhouse & Karsa firmly in the NCFC shop window saying "In the same way Grant Holt is not for sale, it doesn''t stop people making offers."In other words, if Villa or anyone else wants to employ them, they will need to pay us an acceptable price.Full BBC article here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18365325
step 0 Posted June 9, 2012 To be fair Andy, who says we didnt. You can only offer so much and if it still isnt enough there isnt much more you can do.In our hearts we knew he was off on the last day of the season, and I think we all knew to villa, its been banded around enough and his last day speech was as much to the Villa board as us Fans.Lambo hasn''t won many friends with the way he has handled it, and ex-players in the media have been very critical, you dont need to make to many enemies before they start on his back. If Villa do get away with paying no compo or fine then something is very wrong. McN said he wants Cully and Karsa to stay, that maybe to get compo, but Chrissy isnt a fool and to keep those guys on board would be a massive boost for the club as well as putting Lambo up a creak without. step 0 Posted June 9, 2012 AndyWho is to say we didnt do everything, we all knew that Lambert was going at the Last game and still believe the Last game speech had a touch of "come and get me im available".Im pretty sure PL got pretty much everything he asked for but it has to reach a point where he cant push any further.
