It's Character Forming 1,156 Posted June 7, 2012 A very hard-headed approach. If Villa want them, they give us compensation. If not, they have to try to fit in with Hughton and his team. If they do well and convince him/McNally they''re worth keeping, that''s great. If not, we let them go at a time which suits us (and probably after Lambert has appointed other coaching staff) and not them.
AJ 0 Posted June 7, 2012 By the time the Villa players are back for pre-season Culverhouse will be part of the Villa furniture at the amazing Bodymoor Heath complexVilla will just let his contract run out this month and take him for nothing whilst Norwich pay his wages for another 4 weeksIt''s not like he''s needed until July anyway
Icecream Snow 761 Posted June 7, 2012 I wouldn''t be surprised if Hughton knew Culverhouse quite well, both were at Spurs 82-

Supermarket Prodigy 0 Posted June 7, 2012 Rolling contract definition:A contract that continues until an agreed period of notice (amount of time before you are told that you no longer have a job), rather than until a particular date. May 2011:http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2366905,00.html"I''m delighted everything has been sorted for the three of us..." Lambert on the new deals, therefore they ALL signed new contracts.Widely said that these were ROLLING contracts. Therefore the argument that Villa can wait til they run out is irrelevant. pidge 0 Posted June 7, 2012 lol, thanks for clearing that up. sorry for tharting the craze. so is this a genuine attempt at putting together a big coaching team or an attempt to get the compensation the club feels they deserve?
Unhinged Canary 375 Posted June 7, 2012 Again, we stress, he''s from Birmingham. It takes a week or two for things to sink in up there........ Bless his little coach-less socks. [A]

He goes on to say that they''d been encouraging Lambert to havea bigger coaching team for some time. Really pleased they are staying if what he''s said is genuine. Will be important to have some continuity for the players and they''ll have already identified targets that they can share with Hughton, plus Culverhouse seems to be very important in terms of training and tactics. Supermarket Prodigy 0 Posted June 7, 2012 Our chief exec said that they will STAY in their current roles as part of a LARGER coaching team. Now bugger off, you''re boring. If you get them, well done, but you''ll have to pay.If you''re such a big team, stop trying to do things on the cheap.

Lets be aving you! 0 Posted June 7, 2012 An ex-colleague of my wife is fond of relating a story about some Brummie guy down Surrey Street. He was going on endlessly about a couch, which nobody could fathom. Turned out he''d missed the coach. Think you and Lambert will be getting the exact same feeling, AJ. pete_norw 0 Posted June 7, 2012
Very interested to see if they stay on. would be a massive boost to the team. Just a thought but would they not have been on a similar one year rolling contract with lambert? in which case might they just let their contracts run out in a month or so then run to the midlands? Hoping not
They too signed an improved contract last season, so who know''s what will happen, hope we can keep them if only to say stuff you Villa.perhaps Lambert knew there were in for a fight to get them to join him,and can see he was a little bit on the worried side I love it. Lets be aving you! 0 Posted June 7, 2012 "Oo ar" AJ, try this extract from a Wikipedia article on the Brummie accent: "StereotypesA study was conducted in 2008 where people were asked to grade the intelligence of a person based on their accent and the Brummie accent was ranked as the least intelligent accent. It even scored lower than being silent, an example of the stereotype attached to the Brummie accent" Any difficult words, please just ask.

Branston Pickle 3,598 Posted June 7, 2012 I don''t suppose we''d be too surprised to see them go, but we know they can do a good job (whatever it is that Karsa does!) and it would certainly be pleasing to keep them whilst thereby saying ''screw you'' to Vanilla. In effect we''re just slotting either Cully or Karsa into a coaching role, which has been mentioned was to be expanded. Maybe Lambert has been working, basically a lower league coaching set-up. Now we''re bolting together a proper big boys set-up.
