Rivvo 265 Posted June 15, 2012 Bbc text (I look at it too!) allege that CH will be given our biggest ever budget to establish us in the EPL, the text given doesn''t actually support this as such but I suppose it makes sense. Does anyone on here have any estimate as to how much this may be in view of the debt repayments?
kdncfc 28 Posted June 15, 2012 Total budget this season is 47 million - 10 million more than last year.

Jacko 0 Posted June 15, 2012 We also need to factor in that a fair amount of money has gone to cover external debts this year. Those will be completely cleared from next season. So if Hughton keeps us up he will be rewarded by having an even bigger budget to spend next season. There is potential to take Norwich a fair way yet. Norfolk Mustard 106 Posted June 16, 2012 ‘…potential to take Norwich a fair way yet’ means so much more than league position alone doesn’t it? In the hard commercial world of modern-day football, it’s important to appreciate that measuring the development of the football club extends into many other factors. As important as it is, maintaining a healthy league position is only part of it. As Jacko says, maintaining Prem status is vital this coming season and 2013/14 is the one to really look forward to from a £ budget point-of-view. I think appointing Hughton is a great move – the immediate NCFC needs and his personal future development appears to be a great fit; now we can grow together – something that ‘the impatient one’ may have struggled to do with us in the next 12 months…
Mahogany 0 Posted June 16, 2012 Won''t the 2013/14 budget be rather heavily affected by increasing the stadium capacity? Though I suppose with the lack of debt repayment plus the increase in TV revenue there might still be room for some increase.
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted June 16, 2012 Last season we spent about £17m on tranfer fees. The board have indicated that this years budget will be this plus another £10m. This has to be a very respectable sum if spent shrewdly.I suspect that the 3 promoted clubs will do well to spend more than this some and we already have the basis of a squad that has already survived one season in the premiership. Holt is a big factor in the short term, if he leaves he cannot be replaced like for like in the short term. The sum we have will be spread over 2 transfer windows but i suspect most of it will be spent this summer. My worry is Lambert will be shopping in the same window as us, but 4 or 5 astute signings particularly in defence gives us grounds for optimism albeit we all know next season will be a great test
