BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted June 18, 2012 Seems to me that the Premier League owes us an explanation. Last year our first match was away to Wigan, and this year we are away again on the first day; to Fulham. Surely it would only be fair to reverse the locations of the opening matches each year? More than odd, I would say. OTBC

Reggie Strayshun 0 Posted June 18, 2012 It was only when I re-read the full text of Bly''s posting that by PL, he meant Premier League. For a while I thought that he was suggesting that our esteemed ex-manager was involved in some sort of machiavellian plot to gerrymander the Football League fixtures computer, and do Norwich out of a home game.......... gorlestongirl 0 Posted June 18, 2012 I read somewhere that the V festival is on that weekend so Colchester has to be away, which means that Ipswich is at home, so we have to be away. Not defending it, but the timing of big events is taken into account, apparently.

OTBC[/quote] A fair point, well made, Bly. A slip of the keyboard, of course, but you get my drift....... Your use of italics in "yet", speaks volumes. But, I suspect that, if in Aug 2013,what you are suggesting comes to pass (ie Villa Pk hosting Champ fixtures against, who knows, Crawley Town ?) Mr L will not be there to do the managing ! Graham Humphrey 13 Posted June 18, 2012 To be fair, the last two season openers pre-Premier League were both at home (Colchester and Watford). In any case I''m not sure it''s a massive deal really. We still play everybody twice, once at home and once away.
