General Melchett 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Thank god for Shackell - it''s about time a home grown player came through and made a real impact on the first team and put a string of starts together. I think he should play the remainder of the games this season to give him as much experience as possible. Surely a priority now has to be to find an experienced (but not pedestrian or pint sized) partner for him - i.e. not Doherty or Fleming or even Charlton. Perhaps one of those will do for next season in the Championship but if we''re back in the big league we''ve got to sort that out and developing a partnership takes time. I think next season will be the last for Gary Holt as well and we need to bring in a fresh face in centre mid.
