Supermarket Prodigy 0 Posted July 2, 2012 He''s from Sheffield I believe, who else do we know from Sheffield who we don''t like very much?!Rangers have a 3 year ban from Europe, SHOULD be relegated to divison 3, seems like there will be massive opposition from clubs throughout the divisions. They''re totally screwed.https://twitter.com/#!/MadMarcTSome funny memes about the chap on the twitter above. GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,736 Posted July 2, 2012 if he wants to critisicise Whittiker fine, but to bring us into it isn''t on?. It can hardly be just about european football anyway as Rangers more often that not are knocked out by Sepember anyway?!. I thought this Green bloke has already come across as an unpleasant old man but now I hope this all blows up in his face and he ends up bankrupt.
Yellowbeagle 0 Posted July 2, 2012 There''s a reason Smith and McCoist who are Rangers through and through werent thrilled with him getting ownership. Last time i looked Norwich City didnt owe Rangers any favours, i doubt somehow they would do us any or have even paid the money they would have been owed should Holt have moved in Jan. Mr Brownstone 0 Posted July 2, 2012 I didn''t see the interview, I''ve only read the quotes, did he actually stamp his feet whilst crying this crap?
Jacko 0 Posted July 2, 2012 Rangers not only broke the rules they pretty much defecated on them from for a period of about 10 years. Rangers and their supporters will have to accept now as a result there will be some pretty stern penalties. One of those will be the inevitable loss of players unwillingly to start again in either division 1 or 3. We may not have the history of Rangers but we are a fantastic club that is always been at the centre of the community and has never let that community down by not paying its debts and fleecing the local community. Green should have a long hard look at his own club before belittling others.
JF 694 Posted July 2, 2012 Rangers and scottish football are screwed. Fact is he is moving to bigger and better things. The EPL is a by far bigger stage than the SPL.
WeAreYellows49 0 Posted July 2, 2012 Why let some no mark rile you up? He is nothing to us and is only jarred off because players aren''t interested in staying with a club which is sinking faster than the titanic. We have a player that feels the EPL is the place he wants to be, who could blame him!He wanted away, we employed him. It''s really not worth busting a blood vessel on someone and something so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.OTBC
The ambassador 0 Posted July 3, 2012 Well, he''s got a point. Where not seeing european football any time soon.
pete_norw 0 Posted July 3, 2012
Well, he''s got a point. Where not seeing european football any time soon.
Thats a bit of a silly statement, The only reason why they have been in europe is because of the low standard of football in the whole of scottish lg football, Rangers would struggle in the confrence,
The ambassador 0 Posted July 3, 2012 But it''s true. Unless if we get some quality players or some sort of cash flow, were not going to be seeing European football unless if we win a cup.
paul moy 235 Posted July 3, 2012 He has no argument. The new Rangers company is a different entity to the old, so the players'' contracts are dead unless they consent to stay.
Green Grimlock 0 Posted July 3, 2012 A couple of games against the Icelandic runners up and the champions or Corfu in 4 years time or games against Arsenal, Man Utd et al this year. Even a trip to Reading will seem like paradise compared to Inverness!
Webbo118 0 Posted July 3, 2012 Typical beneficiary of a liquidation. Acquires all the assets for practically nothing whilst all the debts get flushed down the pan.
JF 694 Posted July 4, 2012 More chance of playing in Europe at Rangers? They have just been rejected entry into the SPL and don''t have a league to play in.
shefcanary 2,389 Posted July 4, 2012 Well the other SPL clubs came up with the goods and told his newco Club where to go today. However Doomcaster seems to be telling the SFL clubs to vote them into SFL Div 1 - let''s hope for their sakes they ignore the old prudence with ambition t%sser and consign them to Div 3. The newco should be glad of only this - in any other league a new club would have to start even further down the ladder - just like Newport, Wimbledon etc.
GenerationA47 750 Posted July 4, 2012 Can anyone explain why the SFL clubs would consider allowing Rangers to get a free pass to Division 1? Surely if Rangers games are the big fat cash cow claimed by all, it will benefit the majority if the newco is made to start at the bottom & play everyone on their way up??Well we may not got that level of excitement & controversy in England, but looks like next Prem season will have added competitiveness for us now Holty''s on board, signings are cranking up and there''s all to play for in staying up again. Zak Van Burger 0 Posted July 6, 2012 Whilst it now looks highly likely that rangers will be starting from the bottom as 14 out of 16 clubs are set to vote against them entering the 1st division, it doesn''t look as though Rangers will be injecting much cash into the lower leagues as they''ve sold an absolutely paltry 250 season tickets to date. Realistically with just the 5 or 6 players still with the club turning up for training, a club valuation of circa £5m and season ticket sales of 250 it appears that the bottom league of scottish football is exactly the correct place for them and barring a massive cash injection could be their place for years to come.
