St.John Cooper 0 Posted May 31, 2012 If he has resigned and walked out as indiciated in my opinion he is not worthy of a place in the hall of fame.....if he goes he goes but this is not the way to go about it
judderman 0 Posted May 31, 2012 But the fact will remain forever that he''s done more for the club than a lot of the people in the hall of fame. He''s easily the most successful manager in my lifetime. If you think he should be kicked out because of the way he goes about it, presumably you were protesting when he was first put in the hall of fame, because of how we recruited him
scrimmage 0 Posted May 31, 2012 No chance. Worked wonders with our club and without him we would have ended up in administration and in League 2. As someone else said in another thread, if we were offered a manager while in League 1 who would get us promoted twice and then finish mid table in the Prem then move on we would all have bitten their hand off. thebigdub 0 Posted May 31, 2012 Gutted if hes gone and the manner of him leaving but the guy has done so much for this club over the last 3 seasons he deserves his place in the hall of fame!! lets face it where would we be now if he hadnt been at the helm? not in the premier league thats for sure. We will go on and prosper in Mcnally we trust OTBC!!!!

Ruddy Marvelous! 0 Posted May 31, 2012
Get a grip!! He''s been our most successful manager ever.
well said sir! some people really do need to get a grip over this matter......nothing has been confirmed yet, when and if it does then good luck to him. We all know that we would struggle to keep hold of him. Most of our fans are happy when everything is plain sailing but once we get in a sticky situation all the idiots come out (the person who started this thread being one of them)..... ridiculous!! St.John Cooper 0 Posted May 31, 2012
Get a grip!! He''s been our most successful manager ever.
So what if he has....the guy from RBS was one of their most succesful for a time and then looked at what happened, you can not look at what he has done in the past but only how he behaves in the present and if any of you think this way about things is the right way then I am suprised
St.John Cooper 0 Posted May 31, 2012
Get a grip!! He''s been our most successful manager ever.
Can you define this as I would say it is not the case, as we have finished a lot highter in the PL before?

All this talk that without him we would not be in the PL he is not the only good manager out there and to say we would not be where we are is nothing more than speculation...maybe we would have done even better under someone else, unlikely but you can not tell

Of course you look at the past, that''s kind of that the Hall of Fame is about. Were you protesting what Lambert was put into the Hall of Fame?

Sussexyellow 55 Posted May 31, 2012 No way. There is far too much bitterness at the moment. I think you need to consider how you have felt about PL over the last three years not the last three hours.
AndyCanary 0 Posted May 31, 2012 No way. He''s always going to be a hall of fame''er - perhaps one of our greatest managers ever.
BigManInTheBarclay 84 Posted May 31, 2012 If he''s going I''d rather it was sorted quickly so we could get a hungry manager such as Houghton in to plan for next season. As for players leaving I can''t see that unless some strong offers come in from other teams, this talk of players following managers out of clubs is ridiculous...a player on contract can''t just up and leave....at worst they will be sitting on the bench for an entire season when they refuse to play (seem to remember this happening at West Ham or Tottenham in the past with a player). If Lambert is off then I say Good Luck and thanks for all the hard work you put in while you were here saving us from certain relegation to League 2 and possibly worse! St.John Cooper 0 Posted May 31, 2012 My Ruddy M...I dont think so you see as i see it managers and players all want to sign new contracts...why bother they mean nothing just because he did a lot for us does not mean I have to think the way he has handled this is correct...perhaps my post is as idiotic as your user name at least I do not hide behind a name

CanaryOne 0 Posted May 31, 2012 Good Manager yes , but to say a few days ago how happy he was here and how he felt wanted and had never asked to leave only to throw a hissy fit and storm out because he was not allowed to leave tells me that as a person he is a right son of a bitch . mrdi 418 Posted May 31, 2012 This thread is ridiculous. We should also kick out all ex-players who moved on elsewhere, right? At this rate, we''ll end up with a HOF containing nobody other than Daryl Sutch, a player so cr4p that nobody wanted to buy him and only Boston Utd were prepared to take a punt on when he was released... Old Shuck 300 Posted May 31, 2012 If what has been reported is true then the one thing that disappoints me is that, when Villa asked for permission to speak to Lambert, the club didn''t agree to it. The "big" thing to do in such circumstances would be to give him permission but add that he was still wanted here and, after he had spoke to Villa, to sit down again with the Norwich board and reconcile the two-if he still wanted to go, then shake hands and do what needs to be done in a professional manner, if he has spoken to them and decided against it, then issue a statement to that effect and get on with the job in hand here. He was always going to move on at some point in time-and rather now than January. Martinez has been given permission by his Chairman to speak to other clubs, has done so and decided, after doing so, that the grass isn''t greener and stayed put. If Whelan had denied him permission to his face don''t you think Martinez might have considered walking, just as our (presumably) ex-Manager has done? Its a bastard but thats football. Time to move on, get a better Manager onboard who sees NCFC as his career rather than a stepping stone, convince the existing players the same and, on that, get some new ones in. Club above all.
