Did villa deliberatly go public

Recommended Posts

Yes I would imagine so. Villa have been very public throughout. Feeding info to people like Stan Collymore etc to see where the land lies.

Tapping up is done all over football these days sadly.

I''m positive McNally would have told Lambert he had denied permission of whatever anyway though.

Of course Villa went public.  thats how business is done in football these day.  The clubs says no you cant talk to the person then the media pops up and tells the person that way.  Then comes the transfer request and goodbye and thankyou for your services.
Surely M.O.N has rang Lambert and said wtf are you doing paul. Or does Lambert just want to go one better than O''neil
Did it cross your mind that O''Neil contacted Lambert and said you will get no further at City because you''ll get unrealistic funding owing to them being a selling club?

Think of another realistic & valid reason for Lambert''s departure and I''ll send you a Cadbury''s cream egg.

Ive said it before, I think Villa spoke to Lambert long ago, the delay in Lambert going to villa has been due to the other vacancies coming about. Lambert is not stupid and would not resign his position if he did not know excately what was on offer at villa first. unofficial and agaisnt the rules, yes, part and parcel of football, of course it is.

There were articles yesterday that were saying contact has been made through Lambert''s "representatives" - as soon as I read that I did think that there was definite mutual interest. It''s disappointing really, but the sheer quantity of cash being thrown around, and the arrogance that brings, means that these things are always going to happen.I know we all liked to think Lambert and Norwich was "different" to other clubs, but realistically we took him from Colchester in a dubious way so I''m not sure we can have any complaints with regards to his behaviour (if it is true). Charlie Wyett sounded absolutely convinced that he had left on Radio Norfolk earlier, can''t see him jeapordising any reputation he has if there is even the slightest doubt (but he is a journo!)Let''s just console ourselves that we are now a much better, and bigger, club than we were three years ago when he took over, and when the (in my opinion) inevitable news comes, look to the future.

Unless Wyett is Lambert''s next door neighbour and chatted with him over the garden fence this morning he is no more in the know than anyone.  Indeed I think he could be part of the McNally / Lambert subterfuge.

Percy Positive.

Nay, not the blonde, she''s no longer there either - the brunette whose name I''d best withhold. I''m sending you a private message.
