Comparisons a bit harsh on Malky. Gunn had never managed before. Malky managed relegation favourites Watford to midtable safety and Cardiff to the play offs.

For me the best manager available that we could realistically get is Alan Curbishly, as I mentioned on another thread. There''s not many managers out there with the premiership experience that he''s got who will be as readily abvailable. The only others are from the Championship such as the aforementioned Hughton, McCarthy, Bruce. Out of those the only one I''d touch is Hughton. After that you''re then looking at promising managers in the Championship. I doubt Coyle would go anywhere at the moment, Kean another I wouldn''t touch. So what else are you left with? Best of the rest for me are Poyet and Malky.
Just my own opinion, but at least it''s a realistic opinion, unlike some on here.

Whether you think MacKay is a good replacement or not ,the fact that we are even discussing marching into a club that we were fighting neck and neck with for promotion only 2 seasons go and taking their manager just shows what position of strength we hold at the moment ?!?

We don''t need a big name appointment, we need someone solid and dependable, primarily to consolidate where we are at the moment. Realistically, we need someone to do for us what Tony Pulis has done at Stoke, and keep us safe for a few seasons.

Not only do we think malkay will be our next manager IF we want him, so do the cardiff fans if their message board is anything to go by. with complete apethy the consensus is if norwich want him he''s gone.

When the media reported that Lambert was off to Burnely last season, Watford fans were convinced Malky would leave them to manage us if given half the chance. They were saying that it was no secret that Malky had alluded to the fact that he would love to go back to Norwich and manage the club.

The bloke reporting from Carrow Road on Sky Sports News seems to think that Malky is top of City''s list of candidates to replace Lambert if he does leave.

Not sure myself - his record at Cardiff and Watford is solid rather than spectacular and I''d prefer someone with a bit more experience.
