It would be a bit rich coming one week after he claimed to be happy here and had never asked to leave though .
Regardless of what happens, we''ve had a good run and you can''t do anything about it.

If he''s done what he''s allegedly done, he did same to Colchester and will do same to Villa.
I feel a ''Judas'' post won''t be long in coming......

According to the Sun

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4347635/Paul-Lambert-quits-Norwich-after-furious-row-over-Villa-job.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

The Scot resigned following a furious bust-up after the club refused to give Aston Villa permission to talk to him.

Lambert will walk into the vacant Villa job, with owner Randy Lerner and chief executive Paul Faulkner identifying him as their No 1 choice yesterday.

The raging boss wanted out once it became clear the Canaries were digging their heels in, adamant they would not even let him hear what Villa had to offer.

If it is true, is anyone surprised about the nature of it happening? McNally was never going to let him go without a fight, and Lambert supposedly has previous on how he makes these things happen.

How does compensation work in cases such as these? Do we get anything at all (as Colchester did when he walked out on them), or are we likely to get less/nothing?

Possible contenders:

Malky Mackay obviously and Chris Hughton is also in the frame.West Brom are not keen to cough up around £2.5million for the Birmingham man’s services. But that figure would not worry Norwich who expect to receive some compensation from Villa when Lambert is officially installed as boss.

its a delicate balacing act as to know what to do if youre McNally in this situation?......do you refuse permission and hope he gets on with the job or do you allow him to talk to Villa and hope that he doesnt like what he hears and turns them down like Martinez??.    I suppose I''m pleased we''ve at least put up a fight. If it is true that Lambert has that little respect for us after the 3 years he''s had here and really has walked out, lets hope we take him and Villa to the f**king cleaners and press for him to be on an enforced year long gardening leave for breach of contract!.

Anyone else notice Holt retweeted this post on twitter earlier..

#AVFC have made #Norwich boss Paul Lambert their No 1 target and will make an official approach in next 24 hours

Also with a link to the teamtalk websites article on Lambert being Villas number 1 target.

Not saying it does mean anything. Take it how you want.

Dad just got a text. He never gets texts at midnight. Surely something about Lambert? But he''s asleep. So I can''t find out until the morning
Tell him to read the text, my dad had a stash of porno movies and mags under his bed, and it never stopped me having a peek :-)

What contract? Rolling contract = No contract.

He didn''t have a contract to breach, there is no contract for Villa to pay off.

That''s always been the agreement, he can leave when he wants, we can get rid of him when he wants.

Villa owe us precisely £0.
