Give Holt what he deserves

Recommended Posts

Let him rot in the reserves, we are not the "nice" club where players come to retire anymore, if Holt loved the club so much why not sign a two year deal like McNally offered him.

Players come and go but our support will never die and when his replacement arrives, Holt will be remembered unfortunately for the judas he has become instead of the great player he was for us.

I don''t buy the ''rot in the reserves'' comment...

But I just don''t understand where Holt is coming from here, if the length of the contract is the issue, 3 years is excessive bit 2 years is doable and I can''t understand why both Holt and his agent are not happy with this?

So now they been told that they can''t get an extra million quid for another year here they''re looking to get it via their share of the transfer fee, hence the transfer request.

So you are essentially proposing that a club with a limited budget should one its top earners sit in the reserves for 2 years taking up a sizeable chunk of the budget whilst contributing nothing to the club attempting to stay in the Premiership. We would also potentially miss out on a transfer fee of at least £4 million. Put that into perspective and its easily eclipses the club record fee that Norwich has paid for any player. You are have a very influential man hanging around the training ground potentially causing trouble and unrest. I don''t see how any party wins from that situation. Frankly it''s childish, petulant and would potentially put others off joining the club. To severely jeopardise the club''s Premiership status simply to make an example of someone is just plain stupid

Obviously I mean until he is sold, and if West Ham want to sign him for £4.5m than hopefully McNally should be getting the deal done as soon as possible and Hughton or whoever is the next manager can spend the fee received on a new better more loyal replacement.
