Mahogany 0 Posted May 14, 2012 In a lot of businesses important employees are given shares as part of bonus or salary schemes. If Lambert decides to stay is that a viable option for us? It would serve two purposes. Firstly if we publicise the fact that we are giving our manager a (for the sake of argument) 5% share of the club it would be a massive show of loyalty and faith in him. It would also give him a reason to stick around as he will be increase the value of his investment. Sure we might not be worth loads at the moment, but if we can stay up for another season or 2 it could be a fairly large nest egg for him.Just a thought... barclay seats 4849 0 Posted May 14, 2012 Actually I had thought of this and wondered if it had already been done ...including Mc nally ....until yesterday :(
Aggy 752 Posted May 14, 2012 Terrible idea for everyone concerned. What if he ended up being found out and we went on a horrible downwards slide. We''d then have a manager we wanted to get rid of who owned part of the club?! And for Lambert as well, it would basically tie him to the club, limiting his ambitions to go elsewhere.Whilst Lambert is great, we''ve had great managers before, and we''ll have them again. We won''t be able to stop him going when he decides to go somewhere bigger. No point getting depressed about it or thinking of ways to keep him, because we won''t be able to. Just enjoy the time he is here, and when he goes look forward to the next brilliant appointment that McNally will make!
