Flying Dutchman 766 Posted May 16, 2012 With all the uncertainty surrounding Ruddy and Holt for England (despite some threads claiming they know before Woy has even told us his decision) maybe we should cast an eye back at our previous record. So, in the past, how have Norwich players picked for England performed when they have pulled on the shirt?Who was the most recent City player picked who really shone upon being given his chance? Kidderminster Canary 0 Posted May 16, 2012 Robert Green, would be great to have Greeen and ruddy as No 1 and 2 goalies
Flying Dutchman 766 Posted May 16, 2012 True, Green was the last player picked, and I was his biggest fan amongst my many doubting friends, but would we say he was the last player who ''really shone''?I don''t know about anyone else, but after his groin injury against Belarus (I think?) and the world cup showing, I was left feeling more gutted for the lad in his 15 minutes. Supermarket Prodigy 0 Posted May 16, 2012 I still think Green was very badly treated by Capello. Sure he made an error against USA, but made an excellent save in the second-half.I think Ruddy has more of a presence about him, be good whatever if big John can at least get a run out in one of the friendlies. Zak Van Burger 0 Posted May 16, 2012
Who was the most recent City player picked who really shone upon being given his chance?
It would have to be Chris Woods twenty five years ago (plus), even then it wasn''t until he moved to Rangers that he became an England regular.
