TIL 1010 5,300 Posted May 14, 2012 Yesterday saw the cut off date for season ticket renewals and still no news on numbers sold. In previous seasons numbers were given at each of the three deadlines so i find it strange that all is quiet this year.Maybe just maybe i am looking through the wrong end of the telescope ? Harry 0 Posted May 14, 2012 I heard they can count the number of their season ticket holders on one hand, that makes it six, so yes we have already got more than them.

Mister Chops 11 Posted May 15, 2012 I have a bank of season tickets which I will throw in if Lambert leaves, in order to pressurise the Stowmarket Two who treat this club like a doll''s house/train set. Who''s with me, comrades?
nutty nigel 7,963 Posted May 15, 2012 I''m with you Mister.... Finally.... the silent majority are starting to question the cynical season ticket/casual ticket rip off.........By buying Delia''s dream.... you are now feeling the pain. RvWs 4 year contract 0 Posted May 15, 2012 I once had a class mate who was a Man United season ticket holder and he bought in his season ticket book as he was going to Manchester for a mid week home game...is that what he means?
Kirby_86 0 Posted May 15, 2012 The Ipswich support really is pathetic.Over 10,000+ empty seats per game. LOOOOOOOOLLLL!
priceyrice 133 Posted May 15, 2012 not sure how many have been renewed already, but currently on the waiting list which is round 3000 people. I think we could quite easily fill a 3500 seat stadium.Say you have 10% away fans (not sure if thats the right percent) - 3,500 away fans, leaving us with 31,500 to fill (sorry for basic maths, sure you can all work it out too ;-p)We have currently sold 25,000 season tickets (i believe), so add on to that 3,000 people (sure we could sell more though if people knew they were available)- takes us to 28,000 season tickets sold leaving us with only 3,500 tickets for general sale. I''m sure we could sell them for almost every game.Sorry for that little bit, just wanted to work out if we would struggle to sell out a bigger stadium, but the numbers suggest we could do it easily, almost every game

Harry 0 Posted May 15, 2012 pricey the rule for League matches is 10% of capacity or 3,000 tickets whichever is smallest, it would be nice being able to take 7,581 fans to Old Trafford though.

They are capped at 22,000 and the waiting list is just over 1700. Source: http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/GeneralTicketNews/0,,10355~2583320,00.html
priceyrice 133 Posted May 15, 2012 O thanks for some more specific numbers about current season tickets, i was going from what i thought i had remembered hearing. The waiting list is defiantly closer to 3,000 though, got an email saying i was around 2,800 or so on the list- perhaps there has been a surge since our prem survival and the website hasn''t been updated. So that leaves us another 3,000 to sold, i think that could be done through season ticket sales and general sale still. I do think the match day price will come down slightly, it''s currently at the most the club could probably get away with before people get pissed, so that should increase sales further. nutty nigel 7,963 Posted May 16, 2012 I wonder if the figures haven''t been announced because they are intentionally down. If the club are serious about rebuilding the City Stand in a couple of seasons then all those ST holders will have to be relocated. This could be a problem with 22,000 ST holders. So maybe the club won''t replace those who don''t renew with those from the waiting list. Even if it''s only a few hundred it could help them in the long run. I''m guessing there are over 2,000 ST Holders in the City Stand at present. And of course the directors box would have to be located somewhere else. With all our ST Holders relocation would be really difficult.

[/quote] There has been a change in policy from previous years, when figures were certainly announced after the first early renewal deadline. My cynical explanation was that the new ruthless regime decided that served as a reminder to fans to renew cheaply. Without a reminder some forgetful fans would end up either renewing at the higher prices or being replaced by fans paying the highest price. If nutty''s non-replacement idea (which also makes financial sense, given the demand for casual tickets) is right that is really something the club should have announced at the time, at least as a possibility. On balance, nutty, I am a bit dubious about that as an explanation.
nutty nigel 7,963 Posted May 16, 2012 You''re probably right Purple. But they probably do need to get the number of ST Holders down short term if stadium expansion is going to reduce attendances.
