@davidmcnally62

We did receive a transfer request from Grant Holt yesterday. It was rejected immediately.

@davidmcnally62

At your club, we deal with the out of contract players first of all when each season ends.

@davidmcnally62

We then deal with players where the club may have an option to extend their contracts. This season, there are several in this category.

@davidmcnally62

We are almost at the end of this part of our end of season process but we still have some work to do.

@davidmcnally62

We haven''t had any discussions yet with any player/agent who has time left on their contract. This is entirely normal at this stage.

Wow, this gets even more bizarre, so no discussions over new contracts with players currently with time left, since the club is working on those players who contracts are up or have an option to extend. So why on earth did Holt feel he had to hand in a transfer request, must be a falling out or his heads been turned.

No discussions at this stage with any player/agent who has time left on their contract suggests it''s not about Holt wanting more money then. Probably more worrying, as it sounds as though it''s not something we can possibly not sort out over a negotiation table.

@davidmcnally62

The article in today''s Sun is completely inaccurate and incorrect. There has been no offer made to any in contract player, at this stage.

We have not had an argument or row with any player, including Grant. The club is very grateful to all of the players for another great year.

@davidmcnally62

I repeat, no new deal has been discussed with any in contract player, including Grant. The figures in the Sun article are wildly inaccurate.
All sounds a bit like Holt wants more money!
Doesn''t sound like that at all, i wish it was simply that. If he wanted more money he would wait to speak to the club about it, there is no reason to hand in a transfer request without speaking to the board first, that just makes no sense. McNally''s latest comments says there has been no fall out between any player and the club, so if we are to believe that, he must want to go to a bigger club or move back up North (which is strange because by all accounts he and his family are very settled in Norfolk)

@davidmcnally62

The most important activity currently underway at NCFC is Adam Drury''s testimonial on tuesday. Please buy a ticket. Please RT

If you believe the Sun, we are ''plunged into chaos''. On the contrary, we are very relaxed with managing the end of season activities.

Too much information? He''s not really said anything has he? Just that we haven''t had any contract negotiations with Holt or his representatives, he''s rebuked incorrect rumours in the Sun, and he''s asked people to buy tickets for Drury''s testimonial.

Yet more proof in my eyes that McNally is the main man here, not Lambert and certainly not Holt. McNally leaving (not that there is any indication he is even remotely thinking about doing so) would be far more disastrous than either the manager or one of our players going in my opinion.

Give it a break - at least the guy is communicating with the fans! - some people are never satisfied

If it''s more money in terms of going to a bigger club then yes, possibly. But certainly it would suggest it''s more about playing at a higher level than purely for financial reasons, if that is the case (I still believe that other things are more likely).

If it was just about the higher amount of money he could get at a bigger club, then surely he would have at least had a discussion with the board about trying to get more here first, unless he already has an offer from elsewhere.....

It all comes down to money. Holt has always been concerned about earning enough to provide for his family. He''s mentioned it in a couple of interviews. He will get a pay rise and stay i think. Wish he could''ve dealt with it differently though.

He''s been good for us, but we''ve been good for him.

So, we haven''t had any offers for him, we haven''t rejected an improved contract request and we haven''t fallen out with him.

Looks like it''s about going back up North then.

I wouldn''t be too worried. McNally said he is relaxed with the end of season activities. This would not hint at either Lambert or Holt going. Even if they do, the comment seems to suggest he believes there are adequate people out there to replace the both of them.
