RvWs 4 year contract 0 Posted May 20, 2012 With 2 mates. 1 "supports" Chelsea and the other "supports" Arsenal. There were about a half dozen Chelsea "fans" in the pub as well...When Chelsea won the match there was no raucous celebration, no jumping about, no going crazy. Just a few loud "YES"s from all of them before they finished their drinks and walked out...I''m making this post because I am so glad Norwich City is the club that it is. We arent a plastic, bank rolled club- finally winning the Champions League after years and years of investment. Player''s attitudes might have changed and good luck to them- they just reflect a greedy - me me me element of society. NCFC supporters are incredibly loyal- the past few years prove this. I''d sacrifice success (as a result of mass investment) for the loyalty shown by our fans in recent years.I''ve enjoyed the games this season because of the wonderful away trips, travelling up and down the country (and Wales!) meeting fellow Yellows at various away grounds. Mangers and players come and go. Being a supporter is a life-time commitment.

Even when Chelsea attacked (which was rare) their ''fans'' failed to rouse themslves out of their bored slumber. It was the same in the FA Cup Semi Final v Spurs, all the noise came from the Tottenham end which is why I was backing the Germans last night. I had a very dear friend who died a couple of years ago who was lifelong Tottenham and you can say what you like, Spurs play football the right way and their fans haven''t been spoilt by having a billionaire buy countless trophies for them hence Spurs fans are still far more in tune with the ''real football fan'' than those who purport to ''support'' Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd. Chelsea - Champions of Europe? My God they are the worst team to land that tin pot for many a long year!

I don''t think it''s right to be too harsh on Chelsea fans - we have a gang of our own tag-ons this season!
spencer 1970 214 Posted May 20, 2012 Do you reckon Linnets fans in Kings Lynn say this about City fans watching us on the pub screens in their home town? Just a thought.
YellowBlood 0 Posted May 20, 2012 Grow up, believe it or not the club has many other ''real'' fans who have supported the club through thick and thin, I know for a fact some were at the game last night and were close to tears at the end so let''s congratulate these fans shall we instead of coming up all bitter at the plastics. And I for one would never want a German team to beat an English team.

Mister Chops 7 Posted May 20, 2012 I find the continued need to play "we''re bigger supporters than XYZ" quite tiresome. If you want to be a plastic fan and take smaller pleasure in success and less pain from defeat then fair enough, that''s your choice. If you want to follow your team all round the country because it''s what you want to do with your weekend then good for you. The need to prove you are a "bigger" or "better" fan is pointless and childish.
RvWs 4 year contract 0 Posted May 20, 2012 I''m not trying to say NCFC better supporters are more loyal than anyone, I''m simply saying that by anyone''s standards our supporters have shown incredible loyalty.Whatever happens with Holt, Lambert or indeed anyone is, the supporter base will get us through it. When the supporters desert us.... now THAT is the time to worry....
BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted May 20, 2012 I never rate this "we have the best supporters in the World" tag. Delia comes it, Jewell comes it, in fact they all do without exception. It''s codswallop. I should imagine all team support is much of a muchness with some clubs having a slightly greater hooligan element and some having a greater plastic element which then results in unrealisic labelling. The vast majority of Leeds fans are just like the vast majority of City fans, I met a bunch in a Leeds pub years ago in our glory years ands they were great and full of praise for our achievements. Those Chelsea fans who had trecked all the way, to what on the face of it, seemed a thrashing in Munich weren''t plastic. Their devotion showed on their expressions, especially when they went 1-0 down. This whole thread contains too many generalisations based upon prejudiced labelling and what really was an isolated happening.
