Robins was actually already quite a name. Had scored 11 first-team goals in 48 appearances. Saved Ferguson''s job with one of them, so the story goes. And Wiki puts the fee at £800,000, which is right, I think. What one might add is that Fleck (the Holt figure) was an absolute flop at Chelsea. But probably a very well-paid flop. Albert spoke really well of him though. He loved playing with him. Said he was a good player and a good bloke. I seem to remember he left under a cloud and we swapped him for Malcolm Darling.
