Lambert on Goals on Sunday

Recommended Posts

Should be great if Lambert doesn''t whisper like he normally does in his post-match interviews [H]

Must be extensive with PL only Arsenal v Norwich and Championship play offs to be shown, unless Div 1 and 2 to be featured.  City to get result the Arse not won in 4.

Don''t think it''s repeated. Someone uploaded bits of it onto Youtube when Holt and Drury were on, so maybe that will happen again.I''ll try to summarise. Highlights have probably been him disagreeing with the suggestion that you "don''t want to see players sent off" for what Benayoun did, and saying Wenger''s reaction at the end showed a lack of respect and was "wrong". Everyone was agreed there was no wrongdoing from Johnson in the Sagna incident. Lots of praise from PL for Culverhouse and no use of the word "they" instead of "we". Thinks Holt should get a chance for England "if you''re going on stats". He also spoke at length about his time in Germany, when he and Culverhouse went to watch Barcelona train, that he thinks Man Utd will win the league and that Hodgson will be "great" for England.

He was brilliant. Measured and a pure professional.Great show but he is such a class man. Always talks about professionalism and appreciates humbleness of greatness. He will be working with great players in not so long, so good to see such a role model. Respectful and you can see the others on the show were highly impressed.

I love his sense of humour as well. He seems almost quiet and withdrawn at times (looked almost nervous and "out of the loop" at the start), but then Ben Shepard accidentally said something along the lines of "you''re all ex-managers what do you think?" and he turned round to Powell and said "ex-managers, are we getting sacked?!"

Just get the sense he''s got that sarcastic cheeky side to him, but at the same time knows where to draw the line in public.

His sarcastic finger wagging and cheeky smile towards the ref at the end of the game yesterday are further evidence of this if any were needed.

Yes Lambo is a class act. I found his description of his trip to Barca enlightening. No wonder the guy is a success.

The interesting point for me was his opinion on Jackson and in particular his run and shot yesterday. He obviously rates him.

Like us all, it will always be a worry about how long we can keep hold of him but now I hope the description of ''they'' as opposed to ''we'' doesn''t seem so significant having watched him this morning.

Wouldnt get too worried about the use of they. He always tries to give praise to others and never tries to be the centre of attention. Very modest and humble man. Contrast that to Roeder who kept us up saying "It was my greatest achievement" amd was very happy to hog all the attention. We are very fortunate to have someone who commands instant respect from those around him in the game. Loved his reaction to the late equaliser as well. What a man!

PL has said numerous times before that he doesn''t want to manage in Scotland.
