lake district canary 0 Posted March 22, 2012 I''ve been watching this board for the last few days wondering what is going on. We''ve had a fantastic season, but all I have been reading about is claptrap about how things have gone sour - certain players should be kicked out, can''t score goals, Lambert has wrong attitude etc etc. Unbelievable! Whats the matter - have we been spoilt by our success? Is our expectation blown out of all proportion? We are competitive every time we go out, losing narrowly last time out when it could easily have gone the other way. We will pick up more points as the season moves on. Enjoy the run in for goodness sake.

But most really should be able to see the differences, and like you say, just calm down and enjoy it.
Gingerpele 0 Posted March 22, 2012 I don''t understand why people are so shocked by this moaning? People moan, thats life. If they aren''t moaning about one thing, there moaning about another... You can''t stop them, in fact your moaning about the people moaning (and i''m moaning about you moaning :P)
. 0 Posted March 22, 2012 Eyes are already moving to next season.. and I reckon much the same is going on with the manager and players. With the novelty and euphoria behind us.... next season will be a real challenge. As has been said... it didn''t end well last time, but I can''t see us slipping up now. lake district canary 0 Posted March 22, 2012 Its not just moaning I''m complaining about - I went through all this earlier in the season. Its the fact that alot of what I''ve read isn''t even moaning - its just cr*p. Maybe its time I took a break from this board because when I see so much cr*p written about how bad things are - it makes me think its just not worth the effort to refute it. dpit 1 Posted March 23, 2012 I remember as a lad, I was terrified of nuclear war and as a result talked about the possibility of it happening all the time (this ended up with me reading International Relations at university). When you have a lurking fear of something (no matter how unlikely it is to happen), you look for every opportunity to find someone who can tell you that it''s not going to happen. That''s all that is happening with people spelling out doom laden scenarios on here, they''re just waiting to hear from the rational mathematicians so that they can put their nightmares to bed (for a while at least). Don''t criticise, empathise.

Don''t criticise, empathise.[/quote] Interesting way of looking at it dpit. Neurotics versus statisticians, maybe? I''ve just got a bit peeed off with some of the ridiculous things that have started appearing - actually since the dreaded Leicester match - which to a lot of us was a disappointment - but to some it was the end of the world. I think some fans have lost the plot. Premiership status has gone to their heads. Talk of slumps, lack of goal scorers, PL not up to the job - and no I''m not going to name names. They know who they are. It''s mind bogglingly completely ga ga the way some people are going on. A successful first season in the offing, some great performances throughout the season right up to the present. Great goals, great resilience, competitive every match (bar 2). Empathise? People just need to have a sense of perspective. I can empathise with someone who is fearful for whatever reason, I can empathise with statisticians who trying to make sense of everything, what I find difficult to empathise with is people who come across as if they know better than the manager. The manager who has sorted out the club on the field like no other manager could do. No ones perfect, but people do seem to have short memories - I just hope the manager thinks there are enough fans that still support him - otherwise he will start to think about going. Fortunately, this board is not completely representative of the total fans. Like canary call, a large proportion of people who have something to say are moaners and complainers. PL has been pretty much seen as a saviour to the club - until Leicester - and now there are a certain proportion of fans who have the bit between their teeth. Me empathise? I think the knockers should learn to empathise and understand what the manager is trying to do - manage a premiership club of limited means to safety in their first season. I don''t think he''s done too badly so far!!

Bill 1,788 Posted March 24, 2012 I shouldn''t take this to heart Mr District. A lot of stupid people are often very superstitious and many think that by prophesising the worst case scenario somehow it will then not happen - likewise if you even speculate on how well things might turn out you will cause a ''well deserved'' downfall. One of these simpletons drinks in a local pub and has spent most of the season talking about us avoiding relegation being our target. He was squeaking out the same old bollox at the beginning of 2009/10 and followed this up with some more guff about us consolidating in the Championship. I''m not sure whether he thought that where you finished the season is where you started the following season. His current theory is that we are ''on the slide'' because Lambert is not playing it safe and it will cost us. Of course. with his idiotic ''logic'' we would have not picked up the points at QPR, Swansea and West Brom. Much similar twaddle was being spouted at home to Newcastle. After Newcastle got their second there were bleats about how we should not have scored our third as it would only cause Newcastle to come at us (whereas at 2-1 they wouldn''t!) - many around me were talking about how we had thrown it, we might even lose it etc. The summing up afterwards seemed to be that we got ''too cocky'' and nearly ''got what we deserved''.We were knocked out of the cup by Leicester, had we not have been I don''t doubt this board would be clogged up with the same whingers and whiners pointing out how right they were, how no one listened to them and our recent ''absolute collapse is down to us trying to be in two competions. The cup run is killing our league form ...... blah blahLikewise if Redknapp had been appointed England manager a few weeks back the same halfwit would be claiming that was the cause of our absolute collapse is that Lambert now has his mind on the Spurs job. I don''t doubt there would also be Spurs fans attributing their teams drop in form to his leaving and taking the England job.Wolves will beat us on Saturday because they are fighting to save their lives - something they have been remarkably inept at doing previously that is why they are in that ''live fight'' positionI don''t doubt that amongst the usual whingers and whiners, the ever so ''umble and the habitual attention seekers there are a few binners, desperately hoping that if they paint the picture as black as it could be then the reverse might happen and we will fail - possibly even as bad as their spectacular slide down the plughole. But then. even when we are looking forward to next season in the Premiership they will be clogging up this board with their dire warnings and phrophecies of doom.So as Ghandi once said ...... " F^^^ ''em, F^^^ ''em all "
Alex Moss 2,165 Posted March 24, 2012 So much truth in what you say there, City 1st - Well said that man. And I do wonder about the undercover binner element myself. People think message boards are harmless places to banter - but they can be incredibly damaging. What concerns me is that we''re starting to see a response from Paul Lambert - and not a happy one at that. Quite frankly, the signs are that he appears to be getting to the end of his tether. It''s easy to show support when things are going our way - but now''s the time where we as supporters should give this great manager and the team some overdue payback... And before it''s too late. lake district canary 0 Posted March 24, 2012 Good posts City 1st and Alex. There has been a nasty wiff in the air on here since Leicester and there have been alot of posts/idiots jumping on the bandwagon - as is always the case. You can see how easily and quickly things become sour. Fortunately a message board is not completely representative of the clubs fans and I''m sure PL and the players - if they look on here - will know this. The main thing is that we show sufficient support at games - if PL starts thinking he''s lost the fans he will start to think about moving. He hasn''t lost the fans so there is no problem, but the odd idiots - like the ones who think booing their own players is an acceptable pastime - won''t help. He has spoken out occasionally about the booers - but I just don''t think the idiots understand what effect booing has. It used to be reserved for dire situations when things look really black - or for refs and opposition players, which of course is absolutely acceptable. To boo is the ultimate put down - why would you want to do that to your own players? Also, I think that more of us on here should stand up to the types that want to pontificate on their ''knowledge'' of the game, when in actual fact they no nothing. I''m no expert on football, and none of us know what it is like to manage a premiership team, so the people that have been talking about managerial mistakes are actually talking out of their rear ends. We can all have opinions, but the way certain posters have been pontificating about the manager - in a superior ''I know better'' attitude is just ridiculous. The board is a place to let off steam, moan etc - but recently the board has not been such a good place. Maybe fans are catching up with ourselves after such a metoric rise. People maybe were so used to complaing after so many years of mediocrity that they are reverting to type now things are levelling off a little. But, for the rest of us, we need to carry on supporting PL to the hilt as he is still the king of Carrow Rd. No one is perfect - but he has earned enough brownie points in my estimation that means he should be allowed the odd mistake without being villified by the "super knowledgeable so called fans" who are more interested in being seen as such than actually being good supporters. Real supporters will understand what I am talking about.
