Waveney Canary 0 Posted April 12, 2012 We have had a brilliant season We have got to safety mark far more easily than I expected.I have been to all the home games and virtually all the away games and the football we have played has been excellent.I was looking forward to seeing James Vaughan play.I watched him for Crystal Palace against us at their place last year and I thought he looked good.I think we knew when we took him on he had a reputation as a bit of a sicknote but to be honest he has been a complete waste of money. I follow him on Twitter and to be honest I dont sense a great deal of urgency about getting back playing. He is one that we should cut our loses on in the summer and get rid of. Devils Advocate. 0 Posted April 12, 2012 Would his transfer fee have been based upon the number of games he plays for us? Couldn''t we get a refund?
nu_matik 184 Posted April 12, 2012 That sounds a bit harsh boys. He was gagging to get back after his first injurybof the season when he came back from the specialist abroad... I''m sure he''d much rather be playing in the Prem than hanging out with the physio!
Lets be aving you! 0 Posted April 12, 2012 Everything I''ve ever read about him suggests he''s a very, very hungry footballer. Once broke his hand by whacking it on the dressing room wall in his frustration at a defeat. Idiotic, sure. But that was while on loan to Palace!
Jacko 0 Posted April 12, 2012 The concern I have for Vaughany is that with all these knee injuries is that he will have a knee which "works" but not necessarily one which can hold up to the demands of being a Premier League footballer. That can also lead to other injuries elsewhere as the body attempts to compensate in other ways. The signing was always a massive gamble. We knew about his injury record but in fairness he did get a full season under his belt at Crystal Palace. This was offset against the fact that those far more qualified than myself have all said that if we can get him firing we have got a fantastic player on our hands. Putting it generously it hasnt worked for either party at the moment. But there is hope for him yet. Rewind about 12 months and people on here were absolutely laying into Zak Whitbread who just couldn''t get fit with that recurring hip problems and other related injuries. Questioning what the point of him being at the club was and some even calling for his contract to be terminated. He got fit and it was no coincidence that his partnership with Ward led to a very strong run of form at the end of the season. He has also been an important player for us this season as well. So don''t write Vaughany off just yet. He can still make an impact for us. Keep striving Vaughany.
AJ 1,359 Posted April 12, 2012 Every player deserves his chance, and I think Vaughan can be a very handy player to have. We just need to get him completely fit! It''s the same with Tierney, they aren''t rushing him because it''d just make everything worse. Expect everyone to be back in pre-season though. Vaughan could be that second striker we need.
