sm72 0 Posted February 29, 2012 Can anyone recommend any pubs in Cambridge that show live football? Ideally we would like to find somewhere to watch a City game, so a pub showing 3pm kick offs on a foreign channel would be perfect, but failing that the usual Sky Sports package would be fine. Many thanks. Cantiaci Canary 546 Posted February 29, 2012 Your best bet is getting out of the city centre as the pubs there are traditional types without screens. Take a taxi up the Milton Road to the Golden Hind if you''re desperate.

e10_yellow 0 Posted February 29, 2012 Yes, the Avery is OK for Sky games, they have quite a few screens in there. Off the top of my head the King Street Run has Sky as well, and the Dobblers Inn behind Mill Road. Not aware of anywhere that shows games on a foreign box. deano 0 Posted February 29, 2012 The Isaac Newton at the top of Castle Hill is pretty good and shows all the Sky games. They do some decent grub too and Big Trev the landlord is a bit of a legend. They also do a "loyalty card" where every time you watch your chosen team and buy a drink you get a stamp, after 6 or 8 stamps (not sure) you get a free burger and chips. Pretty pleased we''re staying up, was worried it might be a long wait before I ever reached the glorious free meal.
sm72 0 Posted March 2, 2012 Thanks very much for the advice guys, looks like a few good ones there to choose from. We were really hoping to catch the City game live that weekend, but it doesn''t look like anywhere in Cambridge shows any of the foreign channels.
JJ 0 Posted March 3, 2012 The Regal on hills road is very good.
Gordinio 0 Posted March 5, 2012 HeyThe Tram Depot on Dover Street (opposite ARU) is good for the footy. They have Greek channels and the gaffer''s into his football. They''ve had an offer on Grolsch Blonde for £2.80 the last few weeks too - good for the lunchtime kick-offs!
