Europe_93 11 Posted February 12, 2012 Enjoyable and well written piece, without really adding much, except the away form stat during Lambert''s reign. If you had compared different approaches that would have been very interesting
Frankly speaking 0 Posted February 12, 2012 Fair point. The big difference now seems to be that we go away trying to win. Under previous managers, and Worthy in particular I always felt like we tried to ''still be in it'' after, say, 70 mins, then maybe to see what we could get. BroadstairsR 2,138 Posted February 12, 2012 An excellent read with some very valid points. An overnight stay must help bonding a lot and Norwich probably do it more than most because of our geographical position. London and Midland clubs often have no need for this and the players probably turn up for many of the local away games as they would for a home fixture. Tactics are a factor too, as was mentioned. Lambert adjusts his with as much regard for the opposition as for the venue. Worthy, for example, had a game-set for away games, whatever the opposition. Mainly based on frustrating negativety and it cost us and him. We also have a better and more adaptable and motivated squad now than for a long, long time.
