Mike phelan saw a disjointed NCFC performance

Recommended Posts

So as Lambert has said we move on, win, lose or draw you move to the next game.

Mike Phelan will report back to Sir Alex that we didn''t play up to our usual standards, nugent''s class showed when he had one chance he executed it, our second string had a few chances and didn''t.

Certainly be good to see Holty back in the line up.

Strange one, two games in a row where psychologically you have to be switched on, yes whatever we get against Man U is a bonus. But, two games where your mentality can be different to that of the run we have been on since Tottenham is dangerous.

So we move on, completely different game against the champions and then move on to secure our place in the premier league asap. The priority of this season.

Warman I would agree that we do not have the luxury of second string if Holt got injured it may be a worry.

Morison has been brilliant getting his goals earlier on, but if we do stay up this year we need a potent striker who will bag goals throughout and hence go back in to the transfer market. Vaughan may have come back at the right time, he, jackson and Morison are on trial now. All can do a job but can they score the goals from now to the end to say they are a genuine threat. We all know at the moment teams are looking at Grant Holt as our talisman.

Today was a great chance for them all to get some minutes and now they can compete for that place next to Holt. With Jackson there seems to be a little more balance, but he is not bagging the goals. When Morison is in the line up we are limited up top but then we have two centre forwards who will attack any cross better than any other striker partenrship in this division and hence when they play we need the ball out wide and delivered in with quality. Goals did come early on.

Certainly Man U may expect the same team who beat Swansea, but after this performance they will know it is not a fair reflection on how we will play with players come back in to the team and possibly back to fitness.
