Ched Evans??

Um... he''s scoring again, quick, powerful, different from what we have...Anyone else think he''d be worth a punt now? Not going to be all that expensive on either wages or fee and would add a dimension we don''t have- can play up front or in Hoolahan role.Maybe I''m wrong but I think he''d be better value than Rhodes right now.

As a person or player? As a player I''d have to disagree- he''s got as much and more about his game as players we all hold in high regard. As a person... who knows. No point commenting there until after the summer I''d think.

I think he is better than some that we have at the moment (Wilbraham) but dont think he fits Lamberts model of players to improve the team not just sit on the bench.

I''d have thought he''d give us a different dimension up front and could give us the kind of boost and change that WBA got from Long coming on.I think we lack a different type of player who still carries a genuine threat- granted Vaughan gives it when fit... but even when he''s back how long can we realistically expect that to be for and could he be seen as an option to start if we wanted?

WHen he was with us, he seemed to be the only player willing to take a shot.  Games he started on the bench would inevitably have 0 to 3 total shots until he came on and started taking shots which inevitably led to goals.
Might as well have Marlon King here
If he''s guilty yes. Not been to trial yet, we don''t know all the facts.I had forgotten about his non footballing life when I first posted but it does explain why no one is getting interested in signing him even though he''s got 6 months left on his contract and is scoring plenty at the moment.

Can''t see Lambert going for him even if found not guilty. Stuff like a full rape trial is a massive distraction. But after saying that he will be a bargain if we got in before he signs a new contract. His off field problems aside I think he would definitely add to what we have got. His career has gone backwards at Shef utd partly because of their relegation but when in the championship he didn''t score a lot but that was because he wad asked to play up top on his own and struggled. He is not that type of striker. He would work well along side Holt or morison

I think him and Chris Martin are very similar players, so we may as well keep the latter..

I''ve never doubted his ability, I saw enough in his time here to believe he could potentially be a Premier League player but he hasn''t performed in a struggling Sheff Utd side. He seems to have rediscovered his confidence, albeit at a lower level..

He''d offer us something different to Holt/Morison/Jackson and Lambert would get the best of him.

No doubt that Ched was great for us when he was here, and in many ways we were responsible for making him! But Norwich are a different team now with a different style. For me its a no.

There is definitely some talent there. He seemed to be a certainty to play in the Premiership back in 2007/8 with that absolute rocket against Cardiff and a very skillful goal for Wales. I thought he would do well for Sheffield United. It didn''t happen for one reason or another. But he isn''t the first. The goals dried up there for Billy Sharp despite the fact he has been prolific at Scunthorpe and now Doncaster.

But he has his own battles to fight at the moment with this upcoming trial in April. He is innocent until proven guilty but they are grave accusations which carry incredibly serious penalties. For that reason nobody will be looking at Ched until the summer at the earliest.

He certainly has a good shot, and did well while he was with us.

If we have him back, however, would this be a case of sentiment triumphing over thought? He seems a very adequate Championship striker, but is he really a potential Premiership striker. Has he played for Wales recently? I am not sure he could raise his game.

There is also the possibilioty that he may be found guilty of a serious offence, and finish in prison!
Certainly not sentiment on my side for thinking of him- his name just keeps popping up on the scoring charts!I know people are saying he''s not done that well for Shef Utd but he has had a broken leg!
