Every one of Holt's 53 goals from L1 and the Champ...

Recommended Posts

...apparently! Big up the guy who has managed to put all these together. There are some absolute belters in here, many of which i''d forgotten about, and of course lots of just brilliant moments - scoring in the mud against Colchester was a special one, and in the snow at Cov.

8 minutes well spent:

I just love the very first goal v Yeovil - classic classic Holt, there are Yeovil players literally falling and bouncing off him as he powers through them!

Not only does he have a fantastic finish, the commitment he shows to get in there and put the ball away through defenders and goalies alike is just astonishing. I lost count of the amount of times he ended up almost braining himself on the post or in a heap on the side of the pitch, but he gets the job done every time.Oh, and I love the Ipswich hat-trick.

The amount of running he does is crazy considering half of the goals I remembered him scoring were tap ins. He just knows exactly where to be to receive the ball!

We are so lucky to be able to watch him and Wes, some of the football they have played over the past few years has been absolutely unbelievable.

Reminds me a little bit of Roberts and Hux

You tube is not so particular about copywrite, their would undoubtedly be loads of contractual problems if it were done officiallyOtherwise agree with the good points about how Grant Holt scores from incredible angles and difficult positions. His style seems to be to meey the ball at the exact right time (and like a cat that will always land on his feet) he manages to twist/contort himself to get the ball into the net. A true goal scorer - a bloody legend already.absolute praise for the chap that put this together - however perhaps a bit more ooomph in the music or even a tongue in cheek Alan Partridge goooo-aal sound trackmight add a bit more to itfavourite bit - celebrations in the snow at Coventry

ps saw myself at the back of the terrace at Yeovil (05sec), not been on the telly for somewhile

Holt has been superb for us, definately up there with the all time legends!

And hes still doing it now - it would have been so easy for him to become blinkered with visions of glory when was put through on Saturday and try and hit the ball as hard as he could which probably would have richocheted off the keeper going nowhere near the net.

- Instead Holt had the composure to look and see an unmarked Morison at the far post where he crossed the ball right onto his head and Morison sealed a great win!

Someone should email this link to Capello with the question  - "Is there a better English finisher than this?"

I would also like to see a montage of his assists he has as well.   Saturday''s was sublime.   The one against Aston Villa was terrific too.  My favourite is from last season against Swansea when down by the corner flag going away from goal he turned and crossed perfectly for Jackson to volley away.  Simply brilliant.

City 1st.  you are getting even more pernickerty in your old age. I''m no spring chicken either but sometimes you have to move with the times and use the lingo as the majority of people do today.

Great video - Some of the early L1 goals were completely new to me, memory is getting shorter..It also highlights the great work of Wes, many of these goals were the result of good work from the wee man.

Just watched both videos - thanks for putting them on here. Makes me realise just how lucky we are to have Holt at Norwich; his arrival was perfect timing for him and the club!

err no, it''s about trying to repackage/market the game

in this case trying to add something that was never part of football since the year dot

and has no meaning

Just for clarifiaction City 1st. - and I''m sure you''re not completely behind the times - an "assist" is not "meaningless" in terms of football.  Most people will recognise the meaning - even if you don''t - or won''t.     You call it a pass if you want to - it''s perfectly ok with me - but please allow me the courtesy of referring to things in football the way I want to - and the way that lots of other people will recognise.

You say tomato I say tomarto -  actually - it''s called give and take.

The ability to supply others with goal-scoring opportunities (assist) is valuable. Obviously completing passes are important but at the end of the day you need to create chances.

When looking at the assist statistic it can be misleading, as can most statistics. The rate is obviously dependent on whether team-mates are putting away the chances supplied.

People are far too lazy with statistics, throwing them around without the proper context.

That was my initial plan, to have assists and other good bits of play, but given that he makes such a high number of goals (something like 17 assists last season alone) when I put it all together it was getting on for the high teens in minutes.

One of the best clips is a fantastic run (one of the last games in League 1) where he takes it past a good 3 people then rounds the keeper, it''s fantastic. Unfortunately he finishes it into the side netting from just too wide an angle, so it didn''t make the goal montage.

Maybe I''ll make a second video of other play.

If you have a look on my channel you''ll see a few others from the last 2 seasons as well.

fab viewing; he has come so far since the goal against Yeovil - he did just bull dozer his way through; compare that to his cross/assist on sat; he now seems leaner and faster. Perfect :-)

And yes - the contribution/assists/passes mad by Wes is patently bleeding obvious too
