Norwich v Chelsea Match Thread

Absorbing game. Norwich playing superbly. Beautiful link up for Grant''s near miss.

Russell caught out a couple of times. Very uncharacteristic. Hope he fixes it at half time!

yeah... impressed so far apart from one or two give aways... centre backs looking goodI think we''re going to have to play that long ball a little more often as it''s working pretty well...  Hate the fact that Torres hasn''t scored for so long as it usually seems to happen against usPossibly Wes at 70 minutes

thought they started well then we had a strong period middle of the first half - they finished the half strongly, esp once lampard went off with good save by ruddy from Torres.  Mata starting to cause us problems.

Holt & morison are worrying their defence - but need more from an attacking point of view from the midfield - although we are closing space down well defensively.

Surman had some brilliant crosses and all of our team have put in a good amount of tackles! Holt was unlucky to go wide.

Lets hope we can come out and push them, our defence definitely looking stronger than theirs!!

Ahhhh brilliant play by Pilks there!

I''ve just seen him in Nandos twice before and apparently he raves about it on twitter or something too.

Have we had a shot this half?  5 good efforts in the first half,  none in the second.   Should have had a free kick for the hand ball;  holt lucky not to be sent off for kick out at sturridge  (no penalty)

Fab to get a clean sheet;   well earnt and deserved point.

Great performance by the team, but I think Ruddy, Whitbread and Ayala need a special mention - top drawer defending with very few if any mistakes.Good Job!!!

A settled back four is the key, they build up an understanding.  No team can chop and change a defence and look solid and keep clean sheets.  Look at the Arsenal defence (for a decade was it?) Lukic/Seaman, Dixon, Adams, Bould, Keown, Winterburn.

Whole team fantastic. In particular Whitbread (who I thought not strong enough, but getting better every week), Pilkington - first half particularly, wonderful tricks & ball control, Grant & Moro (although Moro tired in 2nd half). But really, once again, it was the TEAM wot did it.

We did look tired towards the end, but the point was well deserved.

Lambo just on, saying that character is "paramount". Therein lies by far the biggest ingredient in our success.

Great display by the whole team but have to say the centre-backs were absolutely outstanding. Blocked virtually everything and hardly missed a tackle all gam.

Tentatively looking like we might be onto something with Whitbread and Ayala. Whitbread must be the best sleeper-hit signing in history, and Dani is looking classier and classier every game.Great stuff!

Interesting that PL hinted at Pilkington for MOM - he was certainly very good in the first half, but not so effective in the second half. Then I remembered that great goal saving interception he made in his own area, virtuallly knicking the ball off Maluda''s (IIRC) toe.

thought ruddy was motm today - solid and several good saves - the one from torres 1st half was even better second time of watching.

Good defensive display and a hard earned point - but with better shooting boots we would have had a narrow defeat.

Excellent effort :-)
