Making Plans 957 Posted January 21, 2012 A post on TWTD made tonight after getting stuffed yet again - "Ipswich can still make the playoffs we are not that far in terms of points from 6th if we go on a run but we must keep faith with Paul Jewell"
Kirby_86 0 Posted January 21, 2012 Could our friends from Suffolk seriously get relegated down to League 1?!?!
Branston Pickle 4,186 Posted January 21, 2012 Surely that comment comes from one of us?! Playoffs look a mile off for a side 15 points adrift - the way they are going they''ll not even muster that many from their remaining games let alone catch it up! shefcanary 3,112 Posted January 21, 2012 Agent Jewell is well on course to do what agent Keane was unable to finish last season. A brilliant bit of defensive coaching this week, with a special session for the goalkeepers.
shiplee15 0 Posted January 21, 2012
Could our friends from Suffolk seriously get relegated down to League 1?!?!
All the rubbish i (and the rest of us i''m sure!) had to endure back in 2009 when they were sure they were going to be Premier League so soon. It would be amazing to finally be able to get back at them. I''m not sure how they''d respond either.. Not sure there are too many more Lambert''s out there, if any!! Bill 1,788 Posted January 21, 2012 As good as Lambert and his coaching staff are and have been it does go deeper than that.Back to the new directors who were brought in. All City fans who introduced a far harder and more focussed determination to the club. Who also brought in McNally who had the same ethos and who rapidly desposed of Gunn - and then brought in Lambert. The attendances at Carrow Road were higher as was our overall income when we went down. The debts were a fraction of what they are at poorman road £22m against £70m plus. City had assets to secure the debts against, the paupers have jack shet and are losing a hideous amount each season. The idea that the paupers on field problems can be solved by changing their manager is akin to changing the captain of the Titanic a half our after it had hit the iceberg. There is also a silly belief that their current plight is a temporary blip rather than the long term decline that has seen them steadily slide for quite a few years - and will continue to do so.Still, on the positive side they will at least have a full house next week when West Ham take over poorman road/ Let''s only hope they do better than when last they played a nearby club at poorman road. McNally was chosen by the old directors - Smith and Jones and Foulger. McNally''s appointment was announced on June 12, 2009, although the process of deciding he was the right person, with interviews and the like, had obviously been in train for some time before that. The new directors, Bowkett and Phillips, didn''t get appointed until three weeks after McNally had started work at Carrow Road.
