Time for everyone to calm down?

The contrast between this season and the 04-05 Premiership season is unbelievable. But yet people still seem to be unhappy.

After 20 games we''ve scored 30 goals, only Man City, Man Utd, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have bettered this. At this stage In 04/05 we had only scored 16.

So far we''ve Won 6, Drawn 7 and Lost 7, only the 5 teams mentioned before plus Newcastle, Stoke and Everton have Won more than us. At this stage in 04/05 we had Won 2, Drawn 9 and Lost 9.

We''ve currently Conceded 35 goals, Wolves, QPR, Wigan, Blackburn and Bolton have all conceded more. At this stage in 04/05 we had conceded 37.

At the moment we sit 9th in the table. At this stage in 04/05 we sat 18th.

Everyone knows we nearly stayed up in 04/05.

And what was our goal at the start of this season???

Making it up?? How have you come to that conclusion then?? I no many people are happy with the season so far, but i no full well there are still alot who aren''t. When we came up last time every single person considered it a blessing, every point we picked up we were thankful for, every goal we scored we celebrated like we''d one the league. We didn''t win one away game all season and still there wasn''t moaning on this level. But this year some people don''t just want us to win, but expect us to win. Against teams that have been established in the Premier League for a number of years. Last time when we were outclassed we said fair play!! Some people seem more interested of focusing on the bad points rather than enjoying what Lambert has created.

I tried making a constructive thread without moaning and all you can do is write that,

Please tell me who is upset with the season so far?

I have seen NO ONE who is dissapointed with what we have achived, if you are interpreting a few general moans about certain things as people being unhappy, then thats just wrong.

And last time we were in the premiership, this forum wasn''t as popular, and even forums on the internet in general didn''t seem to attract the same attention (and certainly not the moaners etc). Its a silly comparison.

 

I''m getting fed up of all the people moaning that everyone isn''t eternally greatful and dares suggest something slightly negative. I have''t even been doing any of that myself, but still threads like this and Baldyboys are just annoying. The majourity of people are delighted, and if you think otherwise, then your just wrong, I really don''t understand how you can think people are genuinly dissapointed with anything we have done since Lambert took over (apart from the rubbish in the cups).

Where in my first post did i say i had a problem with people moaning?? Everyone is entitled to there own opinion on the team. But guess what mate, if you''re moaning about something then therefore you''re unhappy about the thing you''re moaning about.

I didn''t hit out at these people i simply said some people still seem unhappy nothing more nothing less,

My thread was quite clearly just comparing the last time we were promoted to the premier league to this season.

Nicholls, I don''t want to get into an argument or offend you, but i''m just fed up with justifying my opinion on people going on about moaners, or people not being happy (which I do think is fabrecated to an extent, you may well be right, but thats certainly not how I see it, and anyone who is genuinely upset about anything this season, doesn''t deserve to be a fan).

There are idiots on here who complain for no reason.   Just for effect.    GP is not one of those, I believe, but there are plenty of stirrers who are only happy if they are running one of the players down, or making some bold (usually completely innacurate) statement  about this or that.

Some of us are sensitive to people who come out with sweeping statements - yours touched a nerve with GP (he can be a bit touchy!) like saying ''people are unhappy'' -  and that is something that could be argued, don''t you think?

 

I don''t know anyone who is unhappy about where we are or what we''re doing.   There is always room for improvement - and we can all have our say - but generally even the serial complainers don''t have much to go on about - they often seem to end up bickering between themselves instead about nothing in particular.

That''s fair enough mate, I didn''t start the thread to create an argument. I simply got together a few stats just to show people in another way how well were doing in comparison to our last attempt, that based with the fact that the last time we nearly stayed up. It just annoyed me that all you could say was that ''i made it up'' when the whole point of the thread wasn''t to have a pop at anyone for anything in the first place.

Back on the original topic of last time compared to this, our away form has noticeably improved, 10 points on our travels so far (and that includes trips to United, City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton already) compared to 7 points in the whole of the last campaign.

I was around during our last caper in the Prem League (date on the left) believe me there was plenty of moaning going on compared to the odd gripe this time around.  If I remember, the moaning last time was mostly the negative way we played which of course can not be levelled at this present team.

I also remember that season. There were howls and shrieks that we had only achieved 15 points in the first half of the season - yet here we are in 2012 giving credibility to the halfwits and permanently dim who claim that us now finishing 17th would be a massive achievementFor that to happen we would have to collapse to around 10 or 12 points in the second half of this season..A very frightening and worrying level of collapse that would cause grave concern for genuine fans.

The moaning started before the start of that season - getting rid of Iwan and Malky - it really put the cat among the pigeons before a ball had been kicked.

No such nonsense this time,thankfully, just good management - long may it continue.

I didn''t use the word ''upset''. Like i said on an earlier post, generally, if your moaning about something you''re unhappy about it. I then went on to say maybe ''unhappy'' was the wrong the word to use......

Like i have also said, this thread was started just to show how well we''re doing compared to the last time we were in the Premier League, not to have a pop at anyone. The first paragraph is just to get you into the thread hence the reason ''unhappy'' isn''t in the title.

It just amuses me, that by me putting the word ''unhappy'' (Which meaning could vary from saying you dont like the matchday pies to chanting Lambert out) in the OP, You discount the whole thread and the best thing you can think to say is ''BOLLOX''
