Did think that after I clicked post!   3 grafters deep,  pilkington & wes just forward but making 5 in midfield when Ar$e have the ball with the aim of supporting Morison quickly when we go forward.    Like that formation a lot :-)

COYY

I do feels its about 5 in the middle - hard to think Pilkington is preferred to Holt as a main striker?

But I am liking the selection - recognises that Holt starting is not a points winner for us while he off the bench is,  and that Bennetts form has dipped from a bright start (I think a goal would do wonders for his confidence) and puts bodies in the middle to restrcit space for arsenals passing.

Walcott v Tierney will be a key battle.

You''re probably right Zipper,it looks the most sensible option.

I agree with Bennett being sub.He hasn''t set the world alight yet.His pace coming off the bench could be quite useful though.

Here''s the team I predicted yesterday.
I would probably try a 4-4-1-1 Ruddy Naughton Martin Barnet Tierney Pilkington Fox Johnson Crofts Hoolahan Morison Try and get in-between their defence and midfield in addition to attacking Santos. Drop Hoolahan a little deeper than the second striker role so he and Fox can link up. Similar to how we played a few games in League One with Lappin playing defensive left side.
Reckon it could work. If it went into a 5 man midfield I think there would be too much space between Morison and midfield and Arsenal could probably deal with any knock-downs.

Delighted to see Crofts in midfield along with Johnson.  It''s the midfield I wanted to see against Arsenal and the one which I thought would see us in better stead as we couldn''t afford to be too open against them and hopefully we''d be tighter at the back than we have been in recent games.

Right on cue Morison! 1-0

Great work by Morison and Martin earlier. How he kept that out I don''t know. Just need to keep our heads for ten minutes and wait out the storm of Arsenal attacks.

Good first half and having survived an early onslaught have finished deservedly level.

Yes, we finished strongly and were the better side after Arsenal scored.

Still on track for my prediction of 2-1

That''s annoying, Martin''s been great, but that''s just stupid, suicidal.

What the eff is he trying to do dribbling through the whole Arsenal team? He tried it just before that as well.

We are just making too many silly mistakes
Sometimes it''s like we want to concede. Russ has been great but I have no idea what was in his head there.
I agree, but where were the other players (midfielders particularly) coming towards him and wanting the ball, creating space?

I can''t. Up until the last couple of minutes it has pretty much been City. Arsenal piping up a couple of times - funnily enough just after they score.
