Helveg

who else thought today that Helveg is starting to show why we got him? i cant remember him making any mistakes today. He played really well and is starting to fulfill my expectations. Now i wonder, Helveg or Eddy?

Apart from leaving Riise (or however you spell his name) unmarked for the second goal he was very good, yes.....but then he''s looked good to me every time I''ve seen him....and so has Eddy.

Glad it''s not my choice to make...

Helveg defended expertly today and showed us what a defender does - he is getting the pace of the game and oozes class - no return for eddie for me (but you guessed that any way OTBC

It would be nice to see some people giving credit where its due. Helveg was excellent yesterday, Jonson played out of his skin (literally), and Doherty (yes doherty) has been a stalwart for several games now. Sadly i bet there are still some people who would prefer it if they played badly. Whilst on the subject of credit where its due, i have to Mention Jarvis...  having seen him for the reserves, for England and against the Spaniards in pre season, ive been unconvinced of his ability... perhaps hes a big game player... what a bloody goal. More please Ryan, make me eat my words again and again and again.

I think we should use Eddy as right back now - but that''s much due to injuries + Bentley suspension (five yellow cards).

Helveg can do a job in centre midfield or as a full back (Fleming needs a break).
Helveg + right back = EDP''s Man of the Match (Although I would''ve given it to Jonson)
Goes to show that ''our Pete'' had judged this one correctly from the first time he saw him play.As I said in a thread a couple of weeks ago when he was being heavily criticised, perhaps we needed to have a bit more patience with him to give him a bit more time to adjust.

Great performance by both Helveg and Jonson.
