IF Scowcroft does come here, we can''t do anything about it can we? Ok, he''s not my 1st choice but he''s not at the bottom of the pack either.  We must be realistic, we probably won''t get Ashton, Sutton or maybe not even Harewood so we have to look elsewhere, Worthys hands are tied I''m afraid.

I''m getting away from my point here anyway,which is that any new players should be welcomed with open arms and given the full backing of the fans.  Just because a player isn''t my or anyone else''s personal favourite, they do need to be given a chance, and that even goes for ex-Ipswich players!!

I agree with you there. Some fans just barrack players because they just dont like them. They wont give them a chance. The names Easton, Henderson and lately Helveg and Doherty spring to mind. That is not the way, just makes players go off their game.

I would give any player to arrive my backing. However i just believe that some of the names in the ring are just wrong.

Agree with your last sentence 100% - and thats the reason for steering clear of some situations.

If football is all about confidence, then the barrackers and moaners will quickly see to it that any spark is quickly extinguished.

Good for Helveg, Doherty and Bentley too who have taken a lot of stick this year for coming through it. But equally we remember Easton and Rivers who never really managed it.

An ex Binner will have to have the skin of a rhinocerous to cope with the flak that would head their way. Trouble is, it affects more than the targetted player.

I could not give a monkeys bum about players being ex binners to be honest. (well not much) Afer all someone like Bent would be very welcome to don the yellow shirt.

I just question what Scowcroft offers that we do not already have in abundance. Save the money.

YOu can pick Ipswich players up cheap, and they still can be very good.......

Bent for example, has proven himself for everton in the premier league, and he wasnt exactly expensive.....
