Trouble in the lower barclay

Recommended Posts

It all kicked off just before halftime, the snake pit started shouting at some blokes who shouted back, then the police waded in and chucked a load of fans out. What the hell was going on.Not seen anything like that since the 70''s

I saw the guy getting talked to by the coppers at half time. He was kicking off about how he''d been treated or something.

They walked off, steward took him aside, then let him go off with his mates. Not sure what started it all though.

Side note, the singing of "you''re going home in a minut, home in a minute, home in a miiinute" while he was being lead out was quality

There was only one man escorted out.

basically two guys, one in the snakepit (I know him) and a one in the barclay. From what i could see, the barclay guy was really going for it, saying he was going to sort out this kid after the game. The snakepit guy was giving some hand gestures and telling him he was mental. The barclay guy then got chucked out later to return with no glasses on and a new jacket on (classic). Snakepit guy was later removed for an unrelated issue i believe, for the second time this season and could face a ban. There was another kid thrown out as well. Im fed up of these big old middle aged men telling kids they''re going to sort them out, its not on. Equally im getting naffed off with kids giving it the big I am when theres no real need, we''re all there for one reason....Norwich City.

I wouldn''t really describe it as "trouble" but certainly got a bit heated and all seemed a bit unecessary.

My understanding of what happened (as sit quite near to where it all happened) was that the bloke in the Barclay had reported a bloke in the snakepit and got him chucked out for some reason. I''m not sure what he was supposed to have done but the bloke who got chucked out looked a bit bemused at being asked to leave and was not kicking off at all. Once others in the vicinity in the pit heard what had happened the bloke in the Barclay started getting a bit of stick and then didn;t help himself by responding to it in an aggressive way. in the end he was taken out for his own good but returned in the second half with a cunning disguise of a jumper and not wearing his glasses and kept his head down.

Ultimately I don''t know what the guy in the snakepit was alledged to have done but in my book unless someone has done something completely horrendous, grassing up any fellow Norwich fan to the stewards and getting them ejected from the stadium is totally out of order.

From what my brother has said it''s stewards and police who think they are more important than they actually are picking on some kids.. he say''s they always do it to the same few every week just because they like to go out on a saturday and to enjoy themselves. Hate bully''s and i have told my brother if possible without getting nicked stick up for these kids obviously if their fathers were there at games the stewards would leave them alone.

The lads who were hauled out of the snakepit were in the row in front of me so here is my view of things. There was a spotty oik in the Lower Barclay around the area that the guy with the dreadlocks who has a bit of banter with the snakepit normally sits, he seemed as if he''d had his first half of lager and was constantly on his feet trying to get people around him to sing and when he got no joy from them he started trying to get the snakepit to join in with him, this went on for a while and when he got no joy he started being insulting towards us, some of the "Lads" in the snakepit took exception to this and started to give a bit back, that''s when a middle aged guy in the Lower Barclay started giving it large and threatening people and the old bill moved in, he was then pointing out the "Lads" in the snakepit and they were getting hauled out and it started to get a bit boisterous, myself and some others then started to have a go verbally at the old bill and stewards about picking on the easy targets and pointed out the guy in the Lower Barclay who was then removed. From what I remember they were all let back in when things had calmed down.

The boy in the Snake Pit who was ejected was only 15. So a middle aged guy going for it against a 15 year old, there''s some real problems there.
