What are the rules for carrying goals scored in the Championship into the Premiership? If Ashton signs and once he scores will he be on 21 for the season or just 1? We COULD have the leading premiership scorer on our books!!

Yup, goals are carried over as Robbie Blake is already in the Premiership list...

Not sure about Fizzy to Premiership, but when Leon moved from Div 2 to Div 1 last season, his goals were definitely carried forward in the Telegraph and Sky Sports table saying (15 for P''boro).

That would be quite amusing,  Henry has 16 league goals,  Ashton has 17!  We''d have the leading Premiership scorer on our books!

When and if Ashton signs, he''s going to take time to settle, for instance there are a whole new set of rules in the Prem that he may not be aware of;

1) The goal lines at Old Trafford are at least a yard wide,

2)Long shots won''t count as the referee and his assistants cant keep up (puff!)

3)Now that you''ve joined a small club, don''t expect any sympathy (especially when playing a big club!).
