Plastic Scouser 0 Posted January 9, 2005 OK so now the Ashton deal is done, what about sorting out the defence?Call me stupid (ah go on...) but do we really have the best defence that we can afford? I mean we can afford to play top professionals out of position, we continue to rely on the best efforts of Mr Edworthy (no offence but is he really the best we can offer or hope to attain?).If we can afford to splash out the cash for Ashton, surely it is time we brought in some steel - OK so we can''t hit a barn door up front at the moment - but we sure are leaving the barn door wide open at the back week in week out...
