That really does make me think playing the diamond is a bad idea for Sunday. Chelsea did well when diagonal cross field balls and people players pulled out wide. Something we tried to do out of defence against Wigan. I reckon a 4-2-3-1 might be a better choice. Give the opportunity for full-backs to get forwards, whilst offering defensive reassurances. If we are to win we must look for width, pace and movement. This formation allows us to soak up their long-balls and counter attack quickly down the wings.
