BIC 0 Posted January 8, 2005 Good, judging from what the fans were saying they weren''t committed enough - they deserve it. Hope it''s more than the usual 3 hours though.

Canarychick 0 Posted January 8, 2005 Yes Worthington has said on ceefax how disappointing the team were today. He felt 4,500 travelling fans were short changed. So they should go to training tomorrow. I am sure if I wasn''t up to my job, someone would be on my back!!

Plastic Scouser 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Has it really taken until mid-way through the season for Worthington to get the message that his team are NOT performing well...????As Canary Chick says - if I wasn''t doing my job properly at work I''d be well and truly rollocked by my boss - if not given the boot! Those poor little darlings - 2hrs training a day, 90 mins of running around like headless chickens on a Saturday and all for what at least £10 thousand a week...??? About bloody time. They can put the roast on the timer - it''ll be done by the time they get home!
Bird Table 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Very refreshing to hear Worthy actually criticise his players for a change and not go on about work-rate and commitment.
Steve White 24 Posted January 9, 2005 Cant believe one or two of the post here - that the team are coming in on a Sunday as Worthy feels that effort was lacking is quite right. But how many times have we seen a performance lacking real guts this season - at most two or three times. If it is just a case of the players not being good enough, but working their guts out anyway, what good would punishing them do? Some people would do to learn about man - management, and most times I think Worthy gets it spot on.
The Original Yellow Fever 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Steve White:- Agree with most of your thoughts and also agree that a couple of the games have showed non-commitment by the players. I would also like to add that I have witnessed quite a few first 45mins that have shown a general lackadaisical approach which has also cost us the game on more than one occasion. Sorry guys but it''s true.

Sorry Steve, but although 90% of the season has been full of committment it is getting to the stage now that if they don''t start putting in committment AND goals, they are down. They get paid loads of money and if the manager feels they didn''t perform yesterday then he rightly made them train today. I will always praise the team for effort but feel now that effort alone is not enough.
