ca 1 Posted September 12, 2011 Probably a silly question but why are Everton & Fulham in our mini league, surely they will both finish mid-table?
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 12, 2011 Fulham were added after a few requests. Everton because I''m not wholly convinced about them anymore.Any team who gets +10 away from relegation will be removed.
Gingerpele 0 Posted September 12, 2011 Everton will be well away from relegation places come the end of the season (if not before) because of one man (David Moyes). Fulham shouldn''t be involved, but don''t seem to be able to cope with Europe and league games at this early stage, i think Jol will be hoping they get knocked out of the group stages, so have half a season with just the league to focus on.Wolves won''t get relegated this season, i can guarantee that, wether or not they will be under threat come Xmas, and the later stages of the season only time will tell, but i think they could just sneak a place in the top 10.... CantonsHero 0 Posted September 13, 2011 In all honesty from the opening games I am positive it is going to be 3 from Norwich, Swansea, QPR, Wigan and Blackburn.I''ll keep the others in for a while, but as they move away it''ll be readdressed.
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted September 13, 2011 I strongly think Sunderland will be in the mix but otherwise agree. 3 from 6 for me andearly signs put us in the 3 at the moment
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 17, 2011 After Week 5 (Saturday)After last week where every result apart from ours (and maybe Everton) seemed to go our way, this week every result except ours (and maybe Everton) went against us.9pts Newcastle United (2 rival played) 7pts Everton (3 rivals played) 7pts Wolverhampton Wanders (3 rivals played) 7pts QPR (4 rivals played) 5pts Wigan Athletic (4 rivals played) 5pts Norwich City (2 rivals played) 5pts Swansea (2 rival played)--- 4pts Blackburn Rovers (2 rivals played) 3pts WBA (2 rivals played) 2pts Fulham (3 rivals played) Upcoming games: Fulham vs. Man City (Sep 18) Man City vs. Everton (Sep 24)Chelsea vs. SwanseaLiverpool vs. WolvesNewcastle vs. BlackburnWBA vs. FulhamWigan vs. TottenhamQPR vs. Aston Villa (Sep 25)Norwich vs. Sunderland (Sep 26)If Newcastle beat Blackburn I will remove them from this. They seem to be stronger than the loss of Barton, Nolan and Carroll would have at first appeared.
Gingerpele 0 Posted September 17, 2011 You have to say, Wigan look a bit dodgy, playing 4 of the relegation candidates and only picking up 5 points. Same could be said for QPR, but they will probably only get stronger from this point, as the new boys start to gel...
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 18, 2011 After Week 59pts Newcastle United (2 rival played) 7pts Everton (3 rivals played) 7pts Wolverhampton Wanders (3 rivals played) 7pts QPR (4 rivals played) 5pts Norwich City (2 rivals played) 5pts Wigan Athletic (4 rivals played) 5pts Swansea (2 rival played) --- 4pts Blackburn Rovers (2 rivals played) 3pts WBA (2 rivals played) 3pts Fulham (3 rivals played) Upcoming games: Man City vs. Everton (Sep 24) Chelsea vs. Swansea Liverpool vs. Wolves Newcastle vs. Blackburn WBA vs. Fulham Wigan vs. Tottenham QPR vs. Aston Villa (Sep 25) Norwich vs. Sunderland (Sep 26)
ncfc4life 0 Posted September 18, 2011 I would say the teams who will be in the relgation scrap this season along with us will be QPR, Swansea, Wolves, Blackburn, Wigan, Sunderland and possibly Bolton and Fulham. The latter 2 you would think are too good to go down you would think but Fulham have made a pretty dire start and their games havvnt been that difficult while Bolton obviously have had a tough start, but with arsenal and tottenham up next for them they could be in a pretty dire situation after those games. With their lack of strikers I think sunderland could be down there. Also i think blackburn could stay up if Kean is replaced with a half desent manager

Nexus_Canary 1,016 Posted September 18, 2011 QPR will be fine unless Joey Barton and co implode. Fingers crossed eh ?
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 24, 2011 After Week 6 (Saturday)Removed Newcastle from the mini-league. Have replaced them with Bolton. The game at the Hawthorns, with the result meaning instead of one team taking three, the teams share 2 meant that all results gave the best possible outcome for Norwich, who will enter the top half of the table with a win on Monday.7pts Everton (3 rivals played) 7pts Wolverhampton Wanders (3 rivals played) 7pts QPR (4 rivals played) 5pts Swansea (2 rivals played) 5pts Norwich City (3 rivals played) 5pts Wigan Athletic (4 rivals played) 4pts Blackburn Rovers (2 rivals played) ---4pts Fulham (3 rivals played) 4pts WBA (3 rivals played) 3pts Bolton Wanderers (2 rivals played)Upcoming games: QPR vs. Aston Villa (Sep 25) Norwich vs. Sunderland (Sep 26)
C.T 0 Posted September 24, 2011 If Villa can beat QPR and we can beat Sunderland then everything will be looking rosey for the rest of the season imo.Nobody expects us to get anything at Old Trafford do they?! Then again... Rooney might not be playing [;)]
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 24, 2011 I''ve been to 12 away games in a row where we have not been beaten. Man U will be the 13th.I fully expect us to get something from Old Trafford.
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 25, 2011 After Week 6 (Saturday) So QPR take the top spot in the mini-league, but have played more of the lower league clubs than anyone (in fact 4 from 6 games are against teams in this league). A win from Norwich tomorrow would still put them in the top spot, having played one extra ''big'' team, though its inevitable that if we do win tomorrow that Sunderland will soon be added to this league.8pts QPR (4 rivals played) 7pts Everton (3 rivals played) 7pts Wolverhampton Wanders (3 rivals played) 5pts Swansea (2 rivals played) 5pts Norwich City (3 rivals played) 5pts Wigan Athletic (4 rivals played) 4pts Blackburn Rovers (2 rivals played) --- 4pts Fulham (3 rivals played) 4pts WBA (3 rivals played) 3pts Bolton Wanderers (2 rivals played) Upcoming games: Norwich vs. Sunderland (Sep 26)Aston Villa vs. Wigan (Oct 1)Blackburn vs. Man CityMan Utd vs. Norwich CitySunderland vs. West BromWolverhampton Wanderers vs. NewcastleBolton vs. Chelsea (Oct 2)Fulham vs. QPRSwansea vs. StokeYet again we go into an international break with a tough away game. Quite a few teams around us have tough games. Only Fulham should pick up points and even that is a hard game.
rmctie 0 Posted September 26, 2011 Great work thanks, interesting read although I''d argue everyone outside the big six (man u, man city, chelsea, arsenal, spurs, liverpool) deserves to be included.
ca 1 Posted September 26, 2011 Thanks for doing that for us [:D]
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 26, 2011 It will take shape as the season goes on, but at present allows us to see some early signs. Swansea despite struggling to score are doing well as they''re clear of the bottom three playing fewer rivals, whereas Wigan are struggling already.Teams will be added and taken out as their positions become more solidified. Sunderland may enter in soon whereas Everton might flit back out. I''ll keep it fluid.
CantonsHero 0 Posted September 26, 2011 After Week 6 Added Sunderland. Will not any more now, but will start to review which teams are in here. As it stands, this is now the bottom 11 (with the assumption that Arsenal will move ahead).8pts QPR (4 rivals played, 1H, 3A) 8pts Norwich City (4 rivals played 2H, 2A) 7pts Everton (3 rivals played; 2H, 1A) 7pts Wolverhampton Wanders (3 rivals played; 2H, 1A) 5pts Sunderland (2 rivals played)5pts Swansea (3 rivals played) 5pts Wigan Athletic (4 rivals played) 4pts Blackburn Rovers (2 rivals played) --- 4pts Fulham (3 rivals played; 1H, 2A) 4pts WBA (3 rivals played; 1H, 2A) 3pts Bolton Wanderers (2 rivals played) Upcoming games: Aston Villa vs. Wigan (Oct 1) Blackburn vs. Man City Man Utd vs. Norwich City Sunderland vs. West Brom Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Newcastle Bolton vs. Chelsea (Oct 2) Fulham vs. QPR Swansea vs. Stoke

YankeeCanary 0 Posted October 2, 2011 CantonsHero, with all due respect, this really does appear to me to be a futile makework project. You must be a socialist. Surely, it''s simpler by far to just click on to the tables each week ( or every five minutes if preferred ) and see the current standings in their entirety. By all means continue to do this if you feel it gives you pleasure, but really, what is the point?

CantonsHero 0 Posted October 2, 2011 As with everything on this forum, you look at what you want and care for it if you will.I think it''s a good statistic. It allows you to interpret the table, for example, Bolton and Blackburn maybe struggling but they''ve played a lot of tougher teams as opposed to Swansea, who though very high up, have played three rivals at home and managed just 8 points. CantonsHero 0 Posted October 15, 2011 After Week 8 (Saturday) Another fantastic day for Norwich. 6 points ahead of the relegation zone gives us some room to manoeuvre over the next few weeks.11pts Norwich City (5 rivals played 3H, 2A) 9pts QPR (6 rivals played, 2H, 4A) 8pts Swansea (4 rivals played, 3H, 1A) 7pts Everton (3 rivals played; 2H, 1A) 7pts Wolverhampton Wanders (3 rivals played; 2H, 1A) 7pts Fulham (4 rivals played; 2H, 2A) 6pts Sunderland (3 rivals played; 1H. 2A)6pts Bolton Wanderers (3 rivals played; 1H, 2A) ---5pts WBA (3 rivals played; 1H, 3A) 5pts Blackburn Rovers (3 rivals played; 1H, 2A) 5pts Wigan Athletic (5 rivals played, 2H, 3A) Upcoming games: West Brom vs Wolves (Oct 16) Arsenal vs Sunderland
Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted October 15, 2011 I know its pretty easy for ourselves to work out but why not order it on Points per game rather than total points. That why its easier to see who has performed in the mini-league regardless of games played.2.33 - 7pts Everton (3 rivals played; 2H, 1A) 2.33 - 7pts Wolverhampton Wanders (3 rivals played; 2H, 1A) 2.20 - 11pts Norwich City (5 rivals played 3H, 2A) 2.00 - 8pts Swansea (4 rivals played, 3H, 1A) 2.00 - 6pts Sunderland (3 rivals played; 1H. 2A) 2.00 - 6pts Bolton Wanderers (3 rivals played; 1H, 2A) 1.75 - 7pts Fulham (4 rivals played; 2H, 2A) --- 1.67 - 5pts WBA (3 rivals played; 1H, 3A) 1.67 - 5pts Blackburn Rovers (3 rivals played; 1H, 2A) 1.50 - 9pts QPR (6 rivals played, 2H, 4A) 1.00 - 5pts Wigan Athletic (5 rivals played, 2H, 3A)
