Creasy 0 Posted January 9, 2005 I wonder if anyone else has noticed how Mattias Jonson reacts to missed opportunities, When we score, When we concede, Fouls againsts all that?. Well From Everytime i always watch him he seems to be like a life long die hard Norwich supporter on the pitch because he shows so much emotion for the club i think. Like when we score he goes mental celebrating and really happy > and when we have missed opportunities he is hands on head bouncing around at it > lol because he knows it was a chance, and if we concede > , to be honest i think he is a life long Norwich supporter lol by the way he reacts to things... and i think its great. I mean he has had to have time to settle in but now look at him. Go Jonson! '''' If only we could partner him with Kristiansen on the other side''''
Derek Sims 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Well said Creasy, Jonson has so much passion in him for this club .. amd i wouldnt give up on that Kristiansen thing eithier
AJ 1,218 Posted January 9, 2005 Pity he couldnt score himself with all that passion he has.........HOW MANY CHANCES DID WE NOT PUT AWAY AGAINST WEST HAM??????I really, really, really hope Dean Ashton is the answer!
3pmkickoff 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Looks like the supporters have finally warmed to him, obviously the first couple of months were disappointing. However this was to be expected when he came from another country and had no pre-season with us. His defensive play is excellent but now you''re seeing more of an attacking threat from him. The fact that he goes into every tackle and ball with no fear is excellent. If he continues, puts the ball in the net or creates chances then IMHO he''ll be a serious contender for player of the season
Campbell 0 Posted January 9, 2005 He''s fast becoming my favourite Norwich City player...gives everything for the team, just keeps going. Shows some classy touches, and with even more fitness and confidence, he''ll get better still. Was interviewed on Anglia''s abysmal ''Soccer Night'' show...apparently he loves meatballs, prefers a Saab over a Volvo and picked Henrik Larsson over Freddie Ljungberg! Hope he sees out his career at Carrow Road...
jimbo 0 Posted January 9, 2005 I keep hearing this Jan Kristiansen guy being mentioned, however i have not seen a rumour any where. Is this guy just a player that someone would like us to get or has there been a rumour in a paper somewhere? He sounds like a good player by the way, Danish international with a good goal scoring record from midfeild.:confused
Creasy 0 Posted January 9, 2005 I dunno, I havent seen it in the paper for myself but there has been alot fo rumours .. i hope we get him tho
MPR 0 Posted January 9, 2005 I''d go along with this. The poor lad could hardly move after getting Ferdinand''s knee in his back yet he kept going. I''ve voted for him as POTM. The guy''s got class and it''s starting to show.
charlies dad 0 Posted January 9, 2005 too right. Hes had more knocks and bangs than any playter i can remember bar Eadie. Who could forget that vicious blackburn prat kicking him?? hope he carries on, gets a goal or two and becomes part of the furniture here, whatever division we are in!. At last? 0 Posted January 9, 2005 I admire his passion as much as the next man but he must stop shooting straight at keepers or side nettings. I think it will come.
Calle 16 Posted January 10, 2005 The only thing thats missing now from what we in sweden are used to, is his finishing. Hopefully that will come sooner rather than later. I knew from the beginning that he was to become one of our top players!
ZLF 271 Posted January 10, 2005 His class, like Helvegs, has always been evident - it was only a matter of time before he caught up to the insane pace of the prem and he has a prominent impact. As far as goalscoring is concerned I am certain that one he gets one he will end up with 5/6 this season.OTBC
Saint Canary 0 Posted January 10, 2005 I find myself pretty much agreeing with Zipper on most points and I do again on this. Once he gets a goal I think Jonson will go onto to another level with us. He will have a weight lifted and will just get better!

Worthy Nigelton<br><br><br><br><br>Evening News Sports Page Headline 8th August 2007:<br><br>Henderson joins Dereham Town. 0 Posted January 10, 2005 I think I''m the only Norwich fan in the world who thinks this guy is poor. Yeah he tries very hard and you can''t knock his effort or passion but his "quality" has been anything but evident, his touch, passing, finishing have all been dire IMO. Also, he is so slow and he hasn''t gone passed one single full back yet. What is everyone basing this on?Am I watching a different game to everyone else??? bananaman 0 Posted January 10, 2005 WN, you are a pessimist/realist and I like it!I have seen nothing of Jonsons quality yet, except the 15 mins as a striker against Liverpool, and one thing''s for certain - he certainly ain''t a winger. He is yet another one of our players who is out of position and looks it.He needs to play up front, and hopefully he will get his chance - especially in view of Nigel''s desperate reluctance to play any of our young ''uns. I always said that Bananaman talks a lot of sense.
Marty 0 Posted January 10, 2005 I think the guy is improving and does have some worthwhile attributes (you can knock his comitment), however I don''t think he is a winger. To be honest you''d get a better performance on the wing from Henderson (eagerly awaiting WN''s reply). But since the whole team is struggling to find its feet we shouldn''t give up on such players yet.
Worthy Nigelton<br><br><br><br><br>Evening News Sports Page Headline 8th August 2007:<br><br>Henderson joins Dereham Town. 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Marty: You just put that in there to wind me up didn''t you? Its not big and its not clever :-)Don''t get me wrong, I''m not saying my mind is totally made up on Jonson - I just don''t feel that so far he has been to the standard I had hoped for.
ZLF 271 Posted January 10, 2005 I think the key phrase is ''the standard I had hoped for''. With his strike rate, transfer fee and international status I think we are all guilty of over expectation. However what has surprised me is how little difference there is between the majority of prem teams and the championship. The players are bigger, stronger and faster certainly (how many times have I thought how big our opponents are!) but the quality difference is not that great. Only Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have really outclassed us and but for a steady head in front of goal and 95 mins concentration instead of 90 we would be safely mid table.Jonson fits that - he has struggled with the pace of the game but in all honestly is a far better player than most we have seen on the right recently (Rivers, Cooper, McVeigh, Hendo (Sorry WN) and all the others Worthy has tried) On that basis he deserves a first team slot, he is just not the world beating Ryan Gggs we hoped he might be.OTBC
Marty 0 Posted January 10, 2005 OK WN, so i did put that bit in to get your attention, shame hendersons injured at the moment, at this rate Worthy will need to call on you and me to make up the squad numbers! One thing Worthington needs to get our strikers doing in training is one on one finishing with the keeper. I can''t believe how bad we are at this, in fact there is more chance of Green saving a penalty! Talking of which, I wouldn''t mind betting that if and when Green moves to another club he saves his first penalty, just a thought.
Marty 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Zipper, I actually think Cooper was a pretty good winger, so was McVeigh on his day (a little poor this years so far), Rivers could be good and was very fast but didn''t have enough balls to be good enough week in week out. Bring back Dale Gordon / Rule Fox.

Don''t apologise for putting Hendo on that list - as Marty will testify I''m not his biggest fan, my signature is to be said somewhat, tongue-in-cheek.Marty: I''ll get me boots on! bananaman 0 Posted January 10, 2005 I like Cooper, but I thought at the time - we''ll get someone better once we''re in the prem. But I don''t think we have. I do like Jonson''s committment and passion, but even if he has winger attributes, he is not a midfielder. He can''t really cross from deep, doesn''t have too much pace, and has very little guile.Where are the real wingers?I have said this sooooo many times I am starting to get bored with myself! We have no-one that can dribble (bar hucks, but he can''t cross) and cross, take players on, light up a match and keep his fullback occupied. Come on Nigel. Give it a try. Just because someone can play up front doesn''t make them immediately qualified to play on the wing. Let''s get a specialist in like Disco Dale and Ruel were. ZLF 271 Posted January 10, 2005 My view was that Coops was better than anything we had in the right wing position but he was only a good 1st div player and not that likely to make the step up. When he has played this year he has hardly looked good so I have to congratulate worthys judgement. I honestly think Jonson is and will continue to be better than coops, its just he is not a winger in the take them on and cross the ball mode - but how many of them are there in the prem? They simply dont exist and have little place in a modern team. I think Hux is still top of the number of dribbles league by some way, ahead of wright-phillips, giggs, robben, duff etc. Apart from them who else is there in that sort of role? Pennant? And who consistently delivers a good cross? Beckham used to but he has never beat a man to do so.City have a tradition of wingers with Eadie, Ruel, Donowa, Barham, Rivers etc - but their peak day has gone.OTBC
StevenageFan 0 Posted January 10, 2005 spot on Zipper, I always find myself agreeing with you. Hucks can dribble and take people on for fun but rarely puts in a great pass and Jonsson isn''t a prolific dribbler, but can pass. Anyway I have seen him take people on and get crosses in during all the televised games, so don''t know what some of you are talking about. Jonson is one of our best 4 players so far this season and should only get better. I am so gutted Helveg is injured once he had just got a regular place in the team and was starting to look good for us.
