Lower Barclay and Snakepit competition

Recommended Posts

A new song is needed for next season.  How about new words for the Oasis song, Don''t Look Back in Anger, which sounds good and would irritate the Man City (and Man Utd) fans.  The chorus is -

And so Sally can wait,

She knows it''s too late as we''re walking on by
Her soul slides away,

but don''t look back in anger
I heard you say

Who can come up with the best words to fit this tune?

The best I can come up with is for the last 2 lines -

Cross the ball to Holty

You know he''ll score

If you don''t know the tune, see this link (the chorus starts at 1 minute 11 seconds) -

In case you haven''t guessed, I''m getting bored.  Is it nearly time to go to Wigan?

And so Lambert can wait,

It''s never too late to score a winner,

In injury time,

But we know we''ll be fine.

''Cause we''re here to stay

It doesn''t quite fit, nor make sense, but it''ll do!

(can''t see it being sung though!)

That''s pretty good, with a tiny bit of tweaking I''m sure it can be made into a good chant.

how about..

And so Lambert can wait,

It''s never to late, to score a goal.

We''re laughing in injury time

but don''t look back in anger,

cos we''re here to stay
