Ultimate all time Norwich City XI

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am officially bored. Therefore I would like to know who would make your all time best Norwich XI, but only filled from players you''ve seen play live.

Mine would be:

Gunn

Culverhouse   Mackay   Bruce   Bowen

Ruel Fox   Gary Holt   Crook   Huckerby

D. Ashton   Sutton

I would have to put Duncan Forbes in, simply for 33 unbroken years of service to Nodge. Could defend a bit too.

I think a player needs to be proven at the highest level to make it into an all time XI. The current team have that potential, although the exception maybe Gary Holt in there. I just always liked him, even though he was probably more a Championship level player he truly earned his ''Three Lungs'' nickname. This time next year I''ll hopefully be able to replace Sutton with Gary Holt, and Gary Holt with Hoolahan/Surman/Fox.

Mike walker would be my manager.

What''s your team then Crispy?!

Deblasiis, Brannan, Carey, De Waard

Henderson, Fenn

Bit harsh on Sutch, he always tried hard, although I seem to remember being halfway out of the stadium moments after he stepped up to take the penalty in Cardiff in 2002! Who were Brannan and Fenn?
For me Huckerby upfront alongside someone like Sutton to allow for Eadie left mid ;)
Good call, I wanted Eadie in but had to leave him on the bench for Hucks. I''d leave my players in their best positions everytime. Bellamy would have been a close call for the starting forward role too as would Iwan.

Pretty sure it was Brannan. Ged Brannan loaned from Man city I seem to recall. And yes, the infamous Neale Fenn from Spurs. I wonder what happened to them both?!...

Not necessarily the best 11 players I have seen play for Norwich, but that team/squad would finish in the top 4 of the Premier League

I will never forgive Sutch for having to endure a $hit 5 hour journey home from Cardiff!

I would have to say:

                                        Gunn

Culverhouse              Malky         Bruce              Bowen

Fox                        Crook          Peters                Huckerby

                              Bellamy      Sutton

They are all fairly recent, but I didn''t see the many play before these.  I only included Peters as you can''t miss our only player ever to get a World Cup Winners medal!

Bit harsh on Fenn too, he was a loanee who only played in a hanful of games and played pretty well in two 5-0 wins, to be fair after he went back i wouldnt have objected if the club signed him, there are plenty of other forwards that were a lot worse than him

To name a few

Coney, Elvis Hammond, Beckford, Ottoson, Sheron, Cottee, Giallanza
