Badger 2,405 Posted June 14, 2011 19 years old - I''d have thought that we needed experience in defence but I suspect PL knows better than I!http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6989247,00.html?http://www.eatsleepsport.com/norwich-city/canaries-join-spurs-stopper-race-1226227.html?http://www.clubcall.com/norwich-city/redknapp-reveals-canaries-loan-interest-1226227.html? Bethnal Yellow and Green 1,557 Posted June 14, 2011 And the front page of the Pink ''Un [:)] I don''t think there is much truth in this to be honest. Sounds like ''Arry trying to drum up business by telling Swansea that one of their main competitors next year (us) is after the same player and they should up their offer for him. Lambert has already said he isn''t really considering loans at the moment. If he came in I can only see him being back-up.
Morisons Prozac 0 Posted June 14, 2011 Probably the best prospect in the Championship last season. Would love for us to sign him permanently but I doubt Spurs would allow that so a loan would be just fine.
Grant Holt is a Monster 0 Posted June 14, 2011 I''d like him on a permanent but I wouldn''t take him on loan. I don''t think it sends a good message to our permanent centre-halves that we''re basically so unconfident in their ability that we''ve decided to play someone elses player and benefit them with some experience for him, rather than play our own players. If our defenders were hopeless that''s one thing, but I think all are capable, so either bring in a good player permanently or don''t bring in anyone at all. Lansbury can operate in a few positions and in different formations so it''s not a case that his arrival meant the end for anyone in particular. Crofts and Hoolahan, the 2 players in the diamond most likely to be affected by his arrival both kept their places and Lansbury remained involved from the bench at least in virtually every match. It''s not often you "sub-on" a centre-half to keep them involved. If Caulker arrived as a loan and started with, for arguments sake, Barnett, you''d then have Ward and Whitbread twiddling their thumbs and waiting for an injury to one of two players before they stood a chance of even a minutes football. And only one of those would likely even get on the bench.
pete 319 Posted June 14, 2011 Look at 3rd against Bristol City, Caulker doesn''t look great there. If prepared to go to Bristol he may be willing to go to the wastelands of Swansea. Think we need a more experienced head.
