Our first fixture of the season could be Bolton at home...

Recommended Posts

This could be a load of old tosh as is grabbed from a BWFC forum.

A real case of brothers/nans/cat/in Asda...and possibly flawed because of the Blackpool inclusion/ Spurs omission...but you never know? we''ll not until until Friday am at least.

I certainly subscribe to the theory that the fixtures have been done now - there was a BBC blog on the fixtures a year or 2 back - and if theyre done there is a chance that they could be leaked.  Certainly everything has to be cross referenced to check things such as local rivals not playing at home on the same day, police requirements, ensuring teams dont play all their away games in one hit, that sort of thing

The other point is that there was a test run of the fixture computer a week or so ago, and it could be that someone got hold of that

While it looks feasible enough, for the most part, Blackpool are in the list and no Spurs.

However, I do like the look of QPR v Chelsea opening day should it happen.

I''d take Bolton at home first game

Fixtures went to the clubs last weekend so that any minor issues can be ironed out and that Sky / ESPN could look at what games they are going to show.

Hope this isn''t true! I''m on holiday the first weekend of the season, so I''m hoping it''s away! Bolton away would be fine!

Don''t we always lose the first game of the season at home anyway? ;0)

Even if you switch Blackpool for Spurs it''s not right - Spurs and Arsenal don''t play at home on the same day, unless one''s a Sunday game...

Re: first fixture 2013/14 thread

Wigan not Bolton, so perhaps Fulham not Chelsea?

I bought this thread back because I was making the point that we already had someone preempt the fixture list and it proved to be wrong, but not that wrong

Errr! Other than the wrong team & saying we were at home when we were away.....

Bearing in mind that 2 years over a third of the prem was from thst area - 2 Manchester, 2 Liverpool, Blackburn, Bolton & Wigan then it is no more than co-incidence.

It does show how this year the prem is more geographicallt split with us Soton, Hull & the 2 Welsh clubs. Makes a change from the prem being made up of clubs from just 3 areas - North West, London & Midlands.
