Following previous attempts to say nasty things about us that resulted in us taking legal action one has to wonder if a paper would dare make this up.....I''m not concerned about him going to Wet Spam but is he in a dispute over his contract?

This is the price of success, having one of the best managers in the country is always gonna attract unwated attention.  I cant see him leaving, not without having at least 1 season with us.

However i will wait for Sideshow Tim and the like to come on here and tell everyone hes gone and its a done deal and we''ve got Jim Magilton coming in to replace him [:P]

Without any knowledge of these things, I''d say that dispute should read negotiation.

A quick check on the Mirror''s website and they are quoted as writing "Lambert has been offered a new contract worth £1.6million-a-year, with an emphasis on bonuses and incentives, while the ex-Celtic and Scotland midfielder wants a more lucrative basic package.", so (and again without financial insight), presumably we can adjust things to meet his requirements and/or come to a mutual agreement.

My opinion would be that a) Lambert''s agent is probably using the media to improve PL''s contract and therefore the agent''s cut, and b) The Mirror is looking to sell a few more newspapers within the London catchment area.

West Ham are a Championship club so I can''t see them as the next step for PL and I''m sure he''d rather have Premier League football with our board rather than the chalice that is WHU at the moment.

Why would Lambert drop a division to do what he has already done?Does he need the money?Does he want to work with those tosspots who run West-Shambles?Does he want to rebuild a squad of prima-donnas who will all be trying to jump ship? Will he have the same transfer budget as if he just stays at Norwich?

Move along, nothing to see here...again.

McNally and lambert are both very shrewd. They''ll each drive a very hard bargain but there''s no way McNally will let lambert go to west ham and there''s no way lambert will want to.

Speculation like this will be of benefit to lambert in getting a better deal - doesn''t mean he wants to leave nor does it

mean he will leave.

The issue i see though, is that whatever people say about West Ham, they have the potential to be a lot bigger club than us in a shorter period of time.  With the olympic stadium move on the horizon, there is massive potntial there and one way or the other, they will get back up.

We know only too well that a step backwards can result in massive steps forward, and as for money.

However, i will reiterate, i cant see him leaving us this season at least.  I feel confident Lambert will want a crack at the prem with his team hes built.  But its difficult not to be concerned.
Full back page spread, Lambert off to West Ham as is un-happy with contract Norwich offered him!!
Yeah, it wasn''t a 20 year one! Don''t you just love the way newspapers embellish stories. It''s like those ones that pick up rubbish from Dodgy Rumours and publish it.

If there was any doubt in PL''s mind it must be very flattering for the best to be considered sixth best by West Ham after a load of other prospective managers have turned them down!

I would be incredibly disappointed in Paul Lambert if left for West Ham. I don''t think he will by the way. I would just be stunned if he did. Especially after he jokingly said about managing us for the next 20 years at the Civic Reception.

I know he''d had a few drinks by then and was joking, but I would be stunned if he moved, especially as West Ham have just been relegated, and also the way they run that club is utterly embarrassing.

One more season with us then,

Redknapp to England

Lambert to Spurs

West Ham has no chance, it would be career suicide!!

Martin O''Neill has a tribunal beginning today in an effort to solve his dispute with Aston Villa. I suspect that the result of this will decide who is the new Wet Spam boss. Bloody papers trying to fill their back pages again, we always fall for it!!!!!

West Ham want Paul Lambert... I want Nestle to bring back ''Secret'' - A choccy bar from the early 90''s.  Wanting something is one thing... getting it is another. He won''t go. He''s always wanted a shot at the big time, why go through everything trying to get there only to take a step back to a club with a fair amount of financial issues. And if he goes... well, i''ll give Nestle a call.

The only bookies I can find offering odds on Lambert for the West Ham job are 888 and they are offering 17-1. If anyone is worried, put a pony on and this should calm your fears.... Hughton odds on favourite with most bookies.

I''m not actually concerned at all with this West Ham rumour. The Burnley one was a steady grower that at first I dismissed, so we will just have to see.

I just don''t see any logical reason that it would even cross his mind.

* He''s been battling for 2 years for Premier League football, why would he say ''nah, I''ll go back into the Championship now I''ve got here thanks.''***

* West Ham have 3 pathetic excuses of business people who are running the club.

* They''re only heading one way and it ain''t up.
why Redknap to England?Surely the most succesful English Manager in the game should get the national job? Step Forwad Neil Warnock... 7 promotions in his career... have the FA got the balls?

I''d love to see Warnock given a chance as England manager. It would be funny. I don''t much care for the whole England thing these days, the last WC did it for me, so I''m mainly in it for the comedy.

I think, to be fair, the bookies even realise Lambert is unlikely to leave a club he''s just got promoted to the Premier League. Hence why they are not entertaining the newspaper talk.

Put yourself in Lamberts position regarding the West Ham job, does he...1) Accept the positon, admittedly on a better package (and it will be better, they are paying Dyer £83k a week to do nothing [8-)]) but then have another season of Championship football re-visiting all those places (Cardiff, Leeds etc ) to grind out results again. Worse than this you''d also have to work for those 3 muppets. Muppets who will have you out after 3 or 4 months if the results are not promising and in doing so will not bat an eyelid at publicising the fact they are intending to replace you thereby destroying what little team-spirit existed anyway (see Avram Grant / Martin O''Neill), or2) Stay where you are, in a place you are hero-worshipped and will continue to be so even if we go straight back down. I reckon he''d even get a stay of execution for much of a following Championship season were it bad given our boards record.I know the big unknown here is the money situaton and the porn barons will always out-muscle us in that respect, but I''d have said it was a ''no-brainer'' on PL''s part (and no doubt I''m going to look a complete arse if he takes the job[:$]). Now Aston Villa, that''s a different kettle of fish entirely...!

I don''t believe money is Lambert''s main motivation. He wants to be in the Premier League.

My Mum made a great point after we got promoted, she said ''That''s it now. Lambert will always be a top tier manager from now on''. I think she was right.

He will never drop down to a lower level than the Premiership, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, whatever it may be.

I don''t think he''ll go to West Ham, purely because he''s worked his balls off to get us to the Premier League and has been promised £40m to spend in the summer. What move?
