Will we start signing players as soon as the play-offs are over?

Mr McNally said we had better get used to transfers being completed sooner rather than later.

So will the incoming start within the next couple of weeks? - I''m sure Paul has already decided who he wants.

Don''t we have to wait until 1st June when the transfer window opens (officially)? However I am sure there are negotiations going on already, at least with any other clubs, like us, whose season has already finished.

You only have to look at the BBC website to see that some clubs are already announcing new signings. The players won''t be able to play for the club until the club until June 1st, but that doesn''t really matter as we have no games [:)]

 

Lambert has previous for getting in players ASAP, but negotiations will be harder now we are Premier League. Just ask Ian Holloway about the difficulties in signing players for the Prem.

I think it will all start when the Premiership finishes, shame we still have until next weekend. Don''t know why they have a 2 week gap, it''s abit of an anti climax.

I''d of thought any players out of contract we would have been tracking for a while Wazzy. But you are right being that most fans here, and probably Lambert, want players from the teams who miss out in the play-offs we''ll have to wait for a couple of weeks.

it was completely different for ian holloway tho for two reasons, one was he couldnt start any business until the play offs had ended, secondly the club has a policy of sticking to a max wage of £10k a week, so he cannot compete with clubs in championship even for players. our situation is completely different, i imagine at least 1 or 2 signings by start of June and for most of his signings to be made by pre season start

I seem to remember in years gone by that the close season has been a problem for Norwich.

Usually we get stories from the management that;

- players / agents on holiday so can''t contact them for signings

- tournaments during the summer interfere with signings (u17, u21) this summer

and then it all kicks off around about July 5weeks before the season starts.

However i do hope this year will be different and because of lansbury and pacheco we can get them back quickly.

I''d like to see Mcguigan and bennet for some width and pace.

Graham and maybe a sneaky signing from west ham if we could afford the wages. victor Obinna looked pretty handy.

And although i''ve mentioned all mid/forward players its our defence i think is most critical... though i dont know anyone we''d sign!

That was under the old doomcaster regim!

Last year in late may/early june,we were commenting on how different it was this pre season,with all the quick transfer biz!

And then GOD.Sorry Mcnally made a statement that we better get used to early transfer dealings! :)

Yes - spot on Big Dave said that was going to be our policy in the future to sign players early.

Its a win-win situation...contracted to us, gel with existing players, PL gets their fitness up to standard
