the media and city

Recommended Posts

In an earlier thread mention was made of the fact that the media would delight in blowing up anything about city they come across

Delia at the promotion party and the name slip is a prime example

extra caution/care with anything in the public arena is required

Delia hasn''t actually done anything to take the attention away from the team, she was just excited and getting into the spirit (hic) of the occasion. Where are the media reports of Lambert calling Holt ugly and unfit, or about the fans constantly singing Russell Martin In His Pants? Saying ''frigging'' and stumbling over a few words is hardly any worse than these other little nuggets which made the fans laugh and is all part of the great spirit that NCFC have from top to bottom right now.

The fact that the tabloids and other media are concentrating on such nonsense instead of analysing our journey these past two years and commenting on the spirit of togetherness that we have right now, just shows how poor the British media has become...

We will  be under the spotlight a lot more and need to ensure that we manage our relationship with the media professionally, or they will end up having a field day with us.

Sports journalism tends to work like a pantomime and every club next year will be assigned a ''role'' by the national press.

Unfortunately ours is already doomed to be one of ''little old Norwich'', the carrot-crunching underdogs from a sleepy backward part of England.

That and Delia Smith... Not even Stephen Fry has dislodged her

Complete non story from the Mail to be honest. A lot of the papers have been complimentary about us seen we bagged promotion. However if the papers write us off next season or ignore us we are a team that seems to thrive on sneaking under the radar. By the time people have started to take us seriously on the last 2 occasions it been too late to catch us.
