Lets remember Bryan for what he was as a player and also for what he went through , the loss of his families little girl and how we, as a Norwich family , were there for him in our support. He was a fantastic player and great in the backround and yes the manager''s job left alot of people with a bad taste in their mouths but Bryan loved the club and couldn''t resist the chance to run the playing side.

I''ve not read any report suggesting him moving away but Bryans been in the area for many many years now and if leaving must be leaving many freinds and memories behind.

I for one will not forget the good times that we went through whilst you were here as a player and wont forget what you had to go through as a father as well.

All the best .

What''s the point!?!? F*ck me some of you are shallow, he was a fine player and ambassador for the club and did a hell of a lot for local charities. If you didn''t want to, then no one made you post a reply!

Seriously though ??Tribute to Bryan Gunn ?!?This is perhaps his 20th tribute post on here since he went off to work as a Sales rep at Car phone warehouse and honestly I am bored ridgid of the "Eastenders episode" that is the post playing career of Bryan Gunn.A mate of mine used to work at Carrow and said Gunny the man was an utter arrogant cock, something that was apparent during and post his tenure as boss.I aplaude his charity work and everything he has done but really,...... hes done... so why make the umteenth bloody post about him ?If you didnt want to draw attention to it why post it ??And this is the pinkun board, your gonna get the arse hole comments, deal with it.If you thought this tribute post would be exempt your very very niave.

Just cos you''re too young to remember him play dosen''t mean it didn''t happen. The world didn''t start or end with you.

I met him countless times through the nineties and I then worked at the Club and had lots of contact......I agree with Nexus (and I''m not the mate who told him either)

I was there at Ewood Park and then at Loftus road a few days later, that to me sums up the scale of Brian Gunn the player.

After he retired he escorted a trip by plane down to Cardiff the last time we got promoted, a thoroughly nice and entertaining bloke.

Then we come to Gunn the manger, he should never have taken the job on in the first place and I genuinely believe would still be involved with the club in some way has he have walked away after The Valley but he didn’t.

So all in all Gunn the player will always be remembered at FCR as one of the greats

So Gunny''s moving house and the OP is talking about him forming a ''new life''. What is the rationalé?

On the OP''s basis I have had several new lives already and knew nothing about it!

I can''t believe people feel the need to stick the boot into a bona fide Norwich legend. He came in as boss in an extremely difficult situation. OK, he failed and we got relegated. I don''t blame Gunn for relegation – I think Roeder is the one who left bad tastes in cakeholes etc. Gunn barely lasted a few games into the following season before getting replaced by a manager who instantly turned this ''mess'' around (couldn''t have been that bad a mess could it?)... so all in all, this particular period as a percentage of his years at Norwich is but a fraction. He may not have been manager material but then neither was Bryan Hamilton, John Deehan, Peter Grant etc etc...

I for one, will remember his courage playing during personal tragedy, his years of charity work, and the pumps to the air at Munich, during our finest hour. If he isn''t a Norwich legend then who the fuck is? "He''s got no hair, but we don''t care..."

I don''t really see the need for a tribute for somebody who is merely moving house. But the abuse is equally pathetic. Bryan Gunn was a fantastic Norwich player and a f*cking awful Norwich manager. Let''s move on shall we?

I reckon getting the chance to move is a fantastic opportunity for a fresh start. I am sure he will be a hit over there. Contrary to what I have seen written on these boards I always found him incredibly friendly and he would always go out of his way to make you feel welcome. Particularly when he hosted the Gunn club.

Unfortunately I agree with Nexus that Gunn''s mangerial record has tarnished his reputation gained as a player. I cannot seperate the two no matter how hard I try. It''s also harsh to criticise the younger generation of fan. They dont have the memories of great saves like the one against Adolfo Valencia and the immense mental strength he showed to surivive the game against QPR. They just have a powerful image of a rather clueless figure standing powerless in the dugout while Colchester ground us into the dirt.

Awesome keeper, awful manager.

Sadly Brian took it upon himself (with the help of his daughters facebook page) to campaign to become manager of our club when we were in the depths of despair. He should have knowen better and realised we needed someone with experience. He was mainly to blame for our relegation to League One imo.

I cant help but think of him as a joke nowadays. He really let the club down as a manager.

Hi Angus......or fatty Melissa.

The only grade gold prats around here are the nobs who swallow the whole legend myth of Uncle Fester and his Munsters.

Good player and I''ll always have tremendous respect for what he had to go through and how he conducted himself at the time. Brilliant professional.

However, when the club was at one of its'' lowest ebbs, we needed Bryan to swallow his pride and let someone who had the ability/experience to take us forward take the job on. He didn''t, he took the job and in doing so, put his personal pride before the interests of the club. I''m afraid this took the shine off any of his achievements for me - big time.

Never blamed him for taking the job initially but after he had failed to save us from relegation, he should have had the guts to move aside. We were very lucky that McNally and Lambert and co arrived to save the day.

Laters Bryan.

The way I see it is that Bryan is a part of the history of our club both as a player and as a manager. Ok as a player he was

excellent, in sales/marketing he was very good and as a manager he was rubbish, but had things not happened the way they did

then we wouldn''t now have the most promising young manager in the country leading us into the premiership, simple as that.
