Scum season ticket sales

Recommended Posts

Just had a quick read through TWTD.One of their dim wits was in the box office and asked how many season ticket have been sold, 11,000. That''s a lot of casual match tickets to sell. No wonder they have started making offers for players. Trying to drum up a bit of interest? How serious are they about signing these players.

I had a browse through there earlier and clocked it to. Not a happy lot are they .

They seem pretty pee''d at every thing at the minute, ticket sales , Evans and who they are not going to be able to sign in the off season.

Shame , a real shame .................................

Doesn''t surprise me to be honest, most of them will probably be going to see West Ham play instead next season.Next time a binner tries to tell you that 1p5wich are a bigger club than Norwich just tell them to compare ticket sales.

Assuming that figure is true (we don''t know yet) it pretty much follows the pattern of support slowly but steadily ebbing away from poorman road.

Figures show they had -

15,935 in 09/10 and

13,990 in 10/11

these are down from the 20,000 season ticket sales they had in the first season back inthe championship.

They lost £14m year ending June 2010, which is a massive hit on a paltry figure of £15.8m total income for the year.

With attendances now bumping along around the 17,000 mark there is every likelihood that attendances will be under 15,000 this season. Although total gate receipts make up less than half the paupers income these further falls will still have an affect.

Something, somewhere has to give.

Something somewhere has to give it won''t be the repayments to their benevolent owner Mucus.

Unfortunately young master nutty, I believe the ragbag of farmhands and cockney wannabes have not fully recovered from the heady heights of nearly being in with a chance of having a stab at being near the playoffs - that or they are in a big sulk.

Curiously the accounts I got the figures from state -

"The precise loss on ordinary activities before taxation was £14.176m, as opposed to £12.674m from 12 months ago."

Those are hefty losses, yet the accounts state that the club only owes around £35m and that figure has not changed.

Maybe there is something more to the words about ''before taxation'' - and also the rider to their debts, that debts disclosed are only those that are interesting bearing. How much more do they have that are not interest bearing ie not declared and are being shuffled about through various tax avoidance wheezes etc is anyones guess ?

Still, a partnership with ipswich museums (I kid you not) and ipswich town sees an exhibition of fading back and white photos now being put on display at ipswich town hall. Presumably as so few go to poorman road thes days they have to place these relics in a more prominent place. The exhibition features stuff about their European exploits, over 30 years ago.

Says it all about the respective clubs.

It maybe that our rather dimwitted neighbours have finally grasped what is going on at poorman road - that nothing is ''going on''.

A few figures that might show the growing gap between the clubs -

At around £60m our income will be four times that of the paupers next season.

It will also be three times that of our debt, whereas the paupers debt is (at best) 3 times their income.

Their season ticket sales will be approaching 10,000 less than those at Carrow Road. Likewise the attendances could be around the same difference. How long before we have a week where carrow Road has attendances of twice those at poorman road ? Not because of Premier League games either, we have been selling out for most of the last two seasons.

Perhaps, while we work out where we can fit in more seats the paupers might consider closing down one of their stands.

poor old binners

Poorman Rd should host coverage of our home games so that the unwashed at Poorman Rd. can see what a good football team looks like.

poor old binners[/quote]The gap between the two clubs is as big now as it has been for some time, the funny part is that the poor old binners are trying their best to convince their self that the current difference between Norwich and Ipswich today is acceptable because they won a couple of trophies 25+ years ago or whatever it is now. Do any other clubs in England over hype their past in quite the same way the binners do? The 3 stars on their shirt for example is a joke gone to far, some teams have stars above their badge to represent World Cups won, Champions Leagues titles won, multiple league titles, Ipswich just have a star for every trophy they have ever won.

I can only wonder what the reaction would be it was US dragging stuff down off the walls and carting it down to the Town Hall.

And it was THEM celebrating promotion back to the Premier league after winning the title the year before

US, deeply in debt with no means of paying that debt, being propped up by some shady arms dealer using the club for some even dodgier tax avoidance wheeze. US with tickets, attendances, income all falling year on year.

Still they''ve got Operation Staying Up (hopefully) to be launched in a couple of weeks, so that should sell a few thousand more tickets.
